Cup Holders

There was a YouTube video uploaded today with a 2024 X5 40i LCI in the United States showing heated and cooled cup holders. I thought this was a discontinued option. I do not see it anywhere on the BMW web site as an option when ordering. Does anyone have any insight on this? Was it recently added back? Not a huge deal, but it would be nice to have if available.

I don't see them on any of the X5 variants but you can get them on the 2024 X7 in the Exec Pkg

I've heard that it is not available in U.S. (for the 2024 X5) regardless of package but I am sure someone else can confirm.

That's what I thought as well. However, here is a link to the video clearly showing the heated and cooled cup holders around the 4:55 mark.

Well that is certainly interesting. You'd think it would be in Executive or Climate, but I haven't seen it listed in either one.

The video is from Parkview BMW in Toronto, Canada. Its not a car designed for the US.

Wow, you are correct about Canada. The video and title are Denver BMW so I assumed it was Denver, CO. Didn't think it was the sales rep's name! Thank you.

I saw it in 2024 X5 M with executive package in US online configurator.
Seems that not available to other versions, definitely not 40i.

as with pre-LCI version of the G05 X5, thermoelectric cup holders are not offered on U.S. models

note the X5M mentioned above is an F95, not G05, so it’s excluded, and while the M50i/M60i are also G05, they’re marketed by the ///M department and considered a similar ‘tier’, and therefore have been offered on them pre-LCI

The X5 M, M60i and X6M/M60i have it. While the 40i is probably considered a base model to BMW, for 2024 it can be had with an option my 23 loaded M50i couldn't (soft close) and many options that were exclusive to the M50i/M models for 2023. Talk about a kick to the face.

It's not available only the X5/X6 M60i either. I think only the M models get it in the US.

12:43 mark

Are you referring to the US market? There are only two X5/X6 M variants for 2024, the M60i and the M Competition. I don't see them listed for the M60i as an option either in a pkg or by themselves and the standard features simply state..."Dual cupholders front and rear".

They are available for the X5/X6 M Competition as part of the Exec Pkg.

The X7 40i and M60i has them as part of the Exec Pkg.

The XM has them listed as a standard feature

I still can't believe that BMW doesn't offer motorized rear side window shades, not even in the X5 M Competition, you have to step up to the X7 to get them.

My mistake, I think I've configured those 2 models too many times lately. At least the soft close doors are back.
