So I had the ACE system installed in my car.
When I connect to the system via the iPhone App, I can see a live preview from both the front and rear cameras - so they are both connected and working.

However, when I view back footage, whether it's via the app, or by inserting the SD Card locally into a computer, I find only footage from the front camera is recorded. I do not see any footage from the rear camera?

I have been through the settings and ensured the option for both Front and Rear recording is active.

What am I doing wrong????!!

Ignore - just figured it out.

FYI - you have to open the file (AVI wrapper) within VLC Media Player.
Then Go to the Video menu, and select 'Video Track' and 'Track 2'.
It then shows both front and rear views simultaneously.

Mine keeps not wanting to connect due to my Carplay connection...trying to figure that one out....

Yes I get the same. I have to disable bluetooth to get it off of the CarPlay. Then I connect to the ACE system. Seems to work that way!

It would be lovely if the ACE system connected directly to the car and was viewable via the main vehicle display, just like the Drive Recorder.
Guess that would make too much sense to implement! lol

I just wish i could use it when outside the vehicle like i did with my old Owl cam. Just log on to the app and see what is going on...

In theory - if its in parking mode then it is obviously active and running - so surely it wouldn't be so hard to bring out an update that would allow a wireless connection even with engine off.......

I’ve activated parking mode, not sure if it works as when I turn the engine off the camera says ‘system shutting down’ . I was under the impression it should say ‘parking mode active’?
Anyone any experience of this?

Yes thats what it should do - when I switch the engine off mine says Parking Mode Active.....

Thats correct.
With the engine off and vehicle locked, as you walk across the front you should see a white light under the front camera flashing to indicate its picked up motion and is recording......
Also check back on the footage to see if its captured anything while parked....

Ah, that’s answers that question then. Anyone know if it’s wired into the side panel passenger side (UK) I’ll have too pop off that panel and have a look. BMW are useless sometimes, sorry BMW Sytner High Wycombe are useless!

Not sure on that one - had mine installed at Sytner BMW too.
They did a decent job, although would have been better if they stuck the cameras on straight the first time!!! lol

I did have a quick look at the rear fuse box and couldn't see any link to the rear live hook up. I'm guessing they just wired to the front fuse box switched live only. Looks like I'll have to pay Williams to have a look
