7/2020 software update

Mine was updated to 07/2020.25 today. The shop foreman told me it was released on Tuesday.

Just an FYI - the climate rules for the steering wheel are also present in my 3/2020 software. I don't think that is new for 7/2020

That is correct. I also had them from 03/2020.

I am curious about the other changes you will find the next weeks.

Is the connected drive app different? It should be possible to turn on seat and steering wheel heating with the app.

No, there hasn't been an update to the app. Hopefully they now have it so the seat heating/ventilation and steering wheel follow the rules on remote startup.

I have not had time to really test it yet other than set an activation point and once drive past the point with nothing happening. My understanding is when you get to the spot where you want your window to open you add that activation point. I'm hoping it will work when you are still moving so the window is open by the time I get to my mailbox but we will see. Perhaps you need to be stopped before it opens.

Is Android Auto available in 03/2020.x or just in July update?

Edit: I think the answer is obvious from succeeding responses. I have scheduled an appointment this week for an oil change and hopefully my dealer will honor my request for this update.

Android Auto looks much better than Apple CarPlay. I am gonna try to convince my dealer in installing this upgrade. I will be taking my X5 for a replacement of the steering column this week, hopefully they will agree on it.

Yes, My X5 has 03/2020.58 and I can confirm that android auto is not included on that version.

When you say you just got your X5 with 07/2020, is this a new G05 Model Year 2021, or an older build with the newer i-step?

If you have MY2021, do you see any Traffic Light Assistant settings in Driver Assistance-Driving-Speed Assistant?

No. It's a 2019 model. I said that because I had to wait 5days to get it back.

Maybe this isn’t new and never knew since I use iDrive navigation but fooling around this morning I noticed the navigation with Apple Maps shows the directions in the IC and the HUD.

This is absolutely new for the 07/2020 iDrive update.

Yep that's new. One of the reasons why I use the iDrive nav - that and Adaptive Drive mode. Thanks for the update.

Is it only Apple Maps, or will any running CP NAV display in HUD e.g. google maps, waze, tomtom?

That is awesome. I prefer seeing the navigation on the HUD. I am also curious to know if it works with Waze and Google maps.
