Red or Blue Brakes with Carbon Black

I'm thinking red is the way to go with Carbon Black. Thoughts?

IMO blue for carbon black
red for black (jet / sapphire) or white exterior

Red definitely pops more, so if that's what you're looking for, red is the way to go. Although I'd probably choose blue, since it integrates better with carbon black and clashes less.

+1 on the comment above. Red for BSM or any white.

Blue.

Looks better with the blue of the BMW logo in the wheels and in the laser lights.

And carbon black is very dark blue.

I think we're outnumbered though.

I might still go for the red. I definitely understand the blue theme w/ Carbon Black and Laser Lights (and it looks great!), but for some reason, to me, the red brake calipers pick up the red tail lights and make a nice contrast (at least to my eye as the configurator shows it).

I'm not at that point yet of final decisions. Still shopping dealers on price so still time to decide.

It's that decision and whether to get Merino leather when there are two kids who will be riding in the car all the time.

One of the things I think the blue caliper adds is a "color theme" because it matches the laser lights. Without those, I don't think it matters but with the lasers it is an easy choice ... blue.

I hear you completely on matching the tail lights. The configurator always makes the brake color pop too much and the exact color of the blue was different bon my m550i. I was much more happy when my car arrived and I saw it in person. I really want the red brakes but I think it could be a bit much on the blue I want. Amy of the whites or blacks or grays will look great with red. I don't buy the carbon black is a blue bit. Sure it has some blue tones but nothing is a our color on real life. If you it. Get it.

Thanks all, especially jwtw for the pic. I decided to go with the blue. I think both options will probably look good in person.

I went with red, because I chose Tanzanite blue and I think blue does look better, but I wanted to give a contrast of blue and red. Have you thought about the tires for those 741?

I just did a quick look. Seems like I may need to go winter and summer tires. I haven't come across a good all-season to avoid needing to swap. Any suggestions?

I searched for about a month to decide between 741/742 and 740. Bottom line, I decided to go for 740.

I'm very adamant about how the car looks and I didn't think about anything else besides 741. Yet after doing research about limited options of tires (AS or winter) and I thought about putting winter for 740 and buying another rim sets.. didn't really sell myself into doing all that since I'm overseas. I could do it, but I don't think it'll be worth it.

Everyone's taste is different and if I don't like the tire options 741/742, I don't have much options as much as 740. I've seen people who had issues with tires and I don't want to be in that situation. Hopefully you'll be able to find a pair you like, good luck
