2021 M50i at Dealership 4 weeks to the day!

First

I am very excited!

This happened a lot faster than I thought! 4 weeks from order to the dealership. I was thinking that this would be in September.

Now for the question that no one can really answer..... Should i wait for September to see if the incentives are any better??? Then the next question is can I wait that long! ha

On another note... A general thank you to everyone for all the good information. Like many people here researching, learning etc... It has helped me a ton! I have always had BMW's with the exception of one SQ5 and this is my first X5. I figured this may be my last shot at V8 with everything getting electrified etc..so i went with the M50i.

I will post pics that i get along the way!

Congrats!

I'm in the same boat for going with the M50i. This will be my first real performance vehicle and wanted to have a TTV8 before going electric as well. I was pretty close to getting a Tesla Model X but really want to see interior improvements and more luxury features offered. I hope by the time my lease is over, Tesla may be in a better position in this regard.

Congrats! That's cool to see it got there that quickly. Is your dealer willing to hold it for you until September? I can't imagine the incentives would be worse, but you may wait and see they are basically the same.

Wow excellent news on the fast delivery to the dealer! I guess make sure it looks perfect before accepting it (i guess there's been some issues with QC on some of the spring 2020's and who knows with COVID what's going on...).

I placed my order around 7/13/20 and it is not anywhere close to where yours is on the timeline. Expecting around the end of the month.

4 to 6 weeks is usually the standard production and delivery time for US market and a mature model line. Plant Spartanburg is cranking these out!

Exactly my reasoning for my m50i. Go with the V8 before it disappears. IMO, we got time to drive electric toys later. For now, ICE is the way to go.

The dealership is holding till the beginning of September. I will take delivery then....10 days and counting...

I've ordered two custom build X5's in the past and both showed up about 4 weeks as well (NY). With the pandemic my original M50 order was going to take 5 months to get built. I got sick of waiting and boredom "made" me get the X5MC instead lol. Ironically with the AC issue by the time i got to enjoy the car it would have been around the same time the M50i would have been done. Granted the M50i could have had the dreaded AC compressor issue too so that would have set me back again.
