The only advantage that BMW could offer was takin it back ad the end of the lease. KBC would only do that if I signed an operational renting contract. I could chose what options I wanted to include. Insurance. Maintenance . Summer tires winter tires. Fuel. Insurance was 1K better deal with my own KBC broker so I did that. Winter tires were more expensive than buying them my self, so I bought them my self and can sell them afterwards. 45 euro ex btw a month for all maintenance and repair. With BMW it was more than 100 |

The BMW renting contract was +/- 45 euro ex btw more expensive with maintenance and repair included. I found that a good deal because the BMW Serenity all inclusive maintenance and repair on my F16 30d was 100 euro a month. I got one renting offer from my bank in July, already forgotten that , it was almost the same monthly fee as BMW but the residual value was lower. I didn't find that really important so I stayed with BMW. But for a next car it can interesting to get offers from different banks to compare. Also in December they recalculated my renting contract with the autosalon conditions and the renting price dropped 40 euro ex btw per month. |

If the residual value is lower with the bank and first payment is the same you are paying more with the bank. Also depends on the bank. But I am quite happy with mine. The BMW dealer told me to ask the bank because their renting formulas were not very good. I have a lot of products with my bank. So probably that will make a difference too. If you only have a renting contract prices will probably not be so good. |

Meanwhile, mine still planned for W26 and is confirmed.
We will see in about 2,5 weeks what a confirmation is worth these days.

So that's just over a month, I really don't see the problem.

Yes I completely understand the circumstances right now, so I expected delays, but I didn't think it would be this bad! In general, I've been told by dealers and brokers that custom builds take 4-6 weeks (pre-COVID). I presume this is faster than other models since the X-lines are built in South Carolina.

I had a phone call from my dealer yesterday to say that my X5 would be delivered to them next Tuesday, and I can collect it the day after.
It has been at Southampton docks since just before the UK lockdown in March. |

Our order for e45 was in by Feb, our dealer still don't have any dates to when the car will be delivered, prior to the lockdown the expected delivery was Sep latest! What wories me is how if the our new car delivery is delayed to next year or close to end of this year, the dealer may want to revise the trading value of our exiting X5 40e. sure this should be BMW problem and not ours, it will be interesting if we end up with a worst trading value, specially as we alreay revised down the trading value of our X5 when the dealer realised the delivery was set for September.
Any one with similar experience, thanks for sharing. |

Had a call from HJ yesterday. My car is at the dealer.
Going to view it today to make sure any known issues are not present and/or fixed at the first opportunity. Brace yourselves for wrinklegate! Also, not taking the car until the dealership arrange to have my charging point installed. |
