They told me my car is at Bremen, not Hodenhagen, for repair.

I called BMW Belux. They told me they have no clue where my car is, well that’s a comforting answer for a so called premium brand about my 100k+ car.

I got same answer.
Let’s find a contact email from BMW Germany , Bremerhaven or Munich etc and ask them what is happening with our 100k order delays that we don’t have any feedback…

Mine left on 20 September

It most probably arrived at Bremerhaven on September 20th… and has been sitting at Hodenhagen ever since.

Ordered new X5 end of Feb/23. Delivery was foreseen begin Aug/23. Then delayed to week 42 and then this week received the letter with no good news. 😢

just be critical if/when you receive your vehicle. look for uneven body panels or paint color/texture. look for signs of water ingress. maybe obtain a letter from your dealer stating that the vehicle was damaged in a storm while in transit, and while it may operate fine initially, if issues pop up, they will have low threshold to repair or even replace it. the few folks here whose vehicles were damaged in transit had varying outcomes: some accepted repairs, some did not and cancelled or re-ordered.

good luck
According to the letter we received, the damage was caused in Charleston Harbor. When I look up information on the internet about the storm, a deluge of more than 1 meter of (salt) sea water hit Charleston. Salt water on a car is not a good combination and is asking for problems over time.

+1 for me. I'm awaiting an X7 which was build 08/17. Delivery was planned today but I received a cancellation 2 days ago. Yesterday I got the info that it has this stop code STOP025076 and it's storm/salt water related.

No other information unfortunately.

Could be everything (I assume rust related) from wheels, brakes, engine parts or worse.

BUT vehicle was driven on the vessel, off the vessel, on a train, off a train, on a truck, off a truck afterwards. Didn't sound like a desaster.

I still hope that the code is related to technical service bulletin or recal and it’s not related to salty water incident ..

Technical issues usually are just numeric. STOPxxxxx is a little more serious I believe.

After a little digging, STOP025076 has the title 'Evaluation of Salt Water Damages'

Meaning is pretty much the same. Mine is an API response from a BMW system.

I tried to mail the BMW dealer at charleston, just to know how bad the storm was at the Charleston port.

But I did not get an answer. BMW has the whole thing sealed 😅

I know the frustration is huge and everyone wants his car to be in good shape and delivered asap!
But, have a little confidence.
Do you really think that BMW will deliver a bunch of +100k cars without thoroughly inspecting them? As a premium brand they cannot afford that.

Sea water on paint is not a good idea. But we don’t know how long they have been submerged + maybe they hosed them down afterwards?

All we can do is wait, check, keep each other informed when you receive a status change. And then show off!! 🤭

They are referring to the area next to the public pier and yacht club (actually King St., that's pretty much next to the ocean) not the port (industrial). The later usually has a quay wall for the big ships which is higher than a typical seawall. The Columbus St. Terminal is ~3.5 feet higher in elevation. If the moment in the video was hide tide I'am not that concerned anymore.

Anyhow even if it's just a rusty bolt, if there is a possibility a carrier or insurance is paying it's just a business decision.
