Any BMW approved methods to clean Curved Display?
We already have fingerprints. I’m ready to clean but I want to make sure I don’t scratch it. Most convenient would be a sealed pack of electronics wipes. The BMW owner’s manual does not have any instructions on how to clean the screens.

Also, get a screen protector for it. I got this one from amazon and it’s pretty good. Then you don’t have to worry about accidentally scratching the screen. It does make the screen more reflective, but I’d take that any day over scratched screen.

I haven't removed the original protector yet for the same reason and have a microfiber to clean the screen and the area around the gear etc. As suggested before, best to put the protector on, i been meant to order one from AliExpress myself.

I don't think bmw makes one, but there is a nice one for porsche - Porsche Tequipment 2 in 1 Display Cleaner which cost ~25 bucks.
For me I just grab a microfiber tower and grab a bottle of eyeglasses cleaner spray |

These are not unique BMW screens that would require BMW approved cleaning method. Clean them as how you would clean your computer screens or any other screen. For example with soft microfiber cloth with mild screen cleaner (alcohol and ammonia free).

I use the same microfiber towel and screen cleaner on my TVs, computers, and lcd screens in cars. Works great.
The large screen in the '24 LCI X5/X6 is not recessed into the dashboard like some and very easy to clean as it is easily accessed. |

So you are driving around a brand new bmw and looking at the fancy new screen through a literal piece of garbage so you can save it for what? It’s a screen. It’s meant to be touched - that’s why they call it a touchscreen. I suspect you may do more damage leaving on the plastic that is meant to be removed when delivered and not engineered to bake in sun, heat etc.

Totally agree on not using a protector. At some point I have to wonder why bother - what’s the point of having nice things if only to encase them in crappy plastic to preserve them for… the next owner? I don’t get it at all.

Right with you on this one. Do you clad your computer and TV screens in any of this plastic crap. I don't get it either.

Count me in as someone who would never put a screen protector on the X5 display.
It would honestly irritate me if I got in someones car and they had one on, I'd probably rip it off when they weren't looking. I have never purchased a screen protector for any of my touch displays, including phone, and they're in perfect condition. |

still, you missed the point which was ridiculing someone for wanting to protect a high-value item with an inexpensive product. y’all do the same for your phones lol |

I gotta know how the process to clean the screen is harder than the process to clean the screen + protector.
I have two iPhones with no cases ever used; they look brand new. I reluctantly use privacy screen protectors on them not because I'm worried about the screen, but because I don't like people's eyes wandering over to what's on my screen.
