so there is no reason to upgrade to 07.2020.25 if the old version of 11.2019.35 is working just fine??

Has anyone tested Android Auto yet? I have not seen any You Tube videos by users yet.

The biggest difference seems to be Android Auto. If you aren't interested in using that or being on the latest version then there should be no need to update.

What? ..... Palisades? ..... Your brother? What happened there?

My youngest brother bought an X5 over the winter because he loved mine when he was in it last Summer. Told the middle one he should also but he said poor guys have to buy Hyundai’s. The Palisade does seem very nice and gets great reviews, just not that same as an X5 though.

We sat in one in Florida over the winter, actually quite nice, well with the exception of that front puss but then look at the X5/X7, while not nearly as in your face as the Palisade, I prefer the slimmer version, anyway, the Palisade has a very pleasant interior with features we wished the X5 had, as I remember thinking at the time, more cargo space but the issue is the engine performance, a full 2 sec slower to 60 and while that might not seem like much as you stand in front of a clock and count 2 seconds, its how BMW applies its performance and has it always available to you quickly without first having to rev up to 6K.

However, at $25K less than a fairly equally equipped 40i, you get a lot of bang for the buck and will probably just forget about the 2 seconds.

It looks like Automatic Window app is not tied to either 03/2020.xx nor 07/2020.xx. I am on 11/2019.40 in Canada and got the Automatic Window app today when I did the Update Apps and Services. It's good for those that need it, but I can't think of a situation in my current lifestyle where I could use it.
I can confirm this. Updated my apps today and the window app also appeared. Will test it tomorrow.

I am on 03/2020

Have you looked at a fully loaded 2021 Ford Transit?

Automagic window things works well.

I set it yesterday at a drive through Starbucks. Today it opened the window as I slowly moved forward following a car in front. I.e it had ordered and was moving on so I followed. Basically means it was accurate to less than a car length. Very nice but saved me precisely zero effort.

I might set an activation point on a main road and then drive up and down it at various speeds to see how close to the saved point it opens. That'll allow me to work out the sample rate of either the app or the sat nav. Again, utterly pointless exercise but... data

I got the notification to update mine... I hope it does not brick my car. Am I just being paranoid? I was thinking of going to the BMW dealership and parking in visitors while it updated. I saw a guy having to get towed on the X7 Forum and it was not pretty getting it on the flatbed.

Ignore this.. It is not the latest version :\

What happens if its pouring rain and windy and you are at the set point for it to auto open? Does the windshield rain sensor prevent the side window from opening or will it open???

It's a good day here today so not sure. When I think about the most useful situation for me which is getting my pass scanned at work, I have to open the window regardless of the weather so I kind of want it to work in all conditions. There certainly wasn't a setting that I could see to disable it during inclement weather, just a simple activate/deactivate checkbox.

I'm all for luxury features & tech. I love being able to turn on features like the messaging seats via voice command- but come on - all we really that lazy we can't press a window switch? Where is this going?

There are specialized awards for this kind of research! :-)

Unfortunately, here in the US, this feature is not available on iStep version 03/2020.31. I wonder why you are able to get it over there before iStep version 07/2020.xx. We have to wait until we either get an OTA update or convince the dealer to update us to 07/2020.xx to get that feature enabled.

It likely is available on 03/2020.31 because LexxM3 got it on 11/2019.54 in Canada. It could be that they are not rolling it out all at once, you never know given how they do the OTAs, perhaps also doing the Update Apps and Services oddly.

I've already tried updating apps multiple times over the last week or so and still no "Windows" app.

Same here I have 11/2019.70, it did not come initially. I even had Drive Recorder first, then today I noticed it popped up. So apparently the web apps pop up randomly for people regardless of the ISTEP version.

As suspected my ISTEP was not updated :| I complained about iDrive
rebooting and that Apple CarPlay does not resume playing when you pause the playback. They said to remove all devices on the iDrive and it should work, of course it did not.

Does anyone else have this problem?
  1. Enter Apple CarPlay
  2. Play music
  3. Mute the music using the volume dial
  4. Unmute - the music will not resume

This happened actually after they updated my car to ISTEP 07/2019 and has not worked since. Has this been fixed in 07/2020?
