1. Bookmark BMW resource links as they appear
2. M50d body trim - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/part...50dX&mg=51
3. Specifically that trim - http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/show...diagId=51_A196
4. Also the part is finished in matte Cerium grey which doesn't match any other metal trim on non-M50d (M Performance vehicle). Might as well source the side mirror cap and grill to match.
5. Apply protectant on trim as those pieces are a pain in the ass to keep clean.

Cerium grey looks nice, it's only offered on M Performance models ie the M50d. M550i, M40i, M240i etc

Agreed, have it on my M550i. Looks really nice especially with other Cerium trim.

Yeah I had it on my X3 M40i. the Cerium grey looks good with certain colors. I wouldn't want it with carbon black, sapphire black etc lighter colors are best with those accents

You should give it a go if you like it. Looks like the fog cover trim is the same on all models and snaps in place. Just have to remove fog cover trim 7 then snap 5 into 6.

I only mention it's a nuisance cause my M550i has cerium trim and I early on I spent too much time trying to keep it clean/spot-free. The wheels are a PITA clean until someone recommended a good cleaner.

I like this look alot too and was thinking of getting it as well. Let us know if you end up doing it and how easy the install is. Btw, getbmwparts has it for about $50 per piece. Wonder if that comes painted.

I comes finished in Cerium - matte titanium-like color.

You could wrap it but probably have to refinish it to paint it another color.

No one knows officially yet but it would be odd for there to be a very limited run of the normal 50i making it a 'rare' car

Don’t take this personally, but I really hope you are wrong.

That’s why I was asking NH_F36, as he is our resident SA.

I don't get offended easily. I love my 50i and purposely didn't wait for an M50i, whenever those do come out. SA's won't know before leaks come through elsehwere. Most dealers even ones on here are clueless + kept in the dark from BMW.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but since this has to do with what I finally did to my 30d MSport, here it is.

I purchased 6 OEM parts to get this trim installed (3 per side) on my front bumper and I'm really glad I did. I feel like my Arctic Gray front bumper doesn't really show the size of the laterals, so the Cerium Gray trim defines those parts better imo.

So anyone interested on spending this much money (like $400) for doing this, these are the parts you'll need to purchase (look at the pics).

I got them from Getbmwparts.com

Did you install them yourself? How easy was it to install?

You're welcome Thomas. Unfortunately I've read that it wasn't going to be an easy task, as it needs for the internal arcs of the front tires to be removed and some other front bumpers clips, so I took it to the dealership, they did the job, which took them like 3 hours.

Now I'm the only crazy guy in my country who spent an estimate of $600 for doing this haha. Here are some pics with the results

I use Blue Coral metal polish. Works great and is easy to use. I've also used Mothers aluminum polish with the similar results.
