Finally!

Funny story... went into the dealership for a pre-lease end inspection. While I was there I noticed this beautiful Mineral White X5M Competition with Sakhir Orange and black interior. Took it for a test drive and loved it. When I got back I found out I was in a pretty big positive equity situation on my '19 X5 40i. Long story short, I'm now the proud owner of a 2021 X5M Competition. Dream come true if I'm honest. Attached some quick pics I took. PPF, ceramic, and tinting is up next!

^^ Correct. Not to derail this thread but this was confirmed by a tuner for the new G80 M3 where he had the car on the dyno before and after (same day) and it showed zero change in power after doing the dealer "break in service".

Lol, they need to tell the dealerships that then. I was told the car won't let me do anything that could harm it during break in and then it gets "unlocked" during the break-in service. I only got a little zesty with it once since I wasn't sure if that was accurate.

I think the oils are different off factory, that's why they ask us not to push the car

LOL, dude, they don't do anything at the break-in service to make it drive any differently. Come on....you believe in the Lochness Monster, too?

What a spec - love it and congratulations on the impulse purchase they are always the best - YOLO!

On the break-in service - from my understanding and as mentioned above its different oil that is used from the factory to what is then used post the 1200 mile service. Zero difference power wise but probably worth taking it easy until the new oil is in...

I'm convinced after the 1200 service indicator is reset the ECU/DME is "unlocked" to full balls to the wall engine performance. I know that the software is not updated at the 1200 mile break in.

Nice !!!

Big jump from 40i to X5M !!!! I'm sure you can never go back now.

Were you able to use your leased equity from the 40i ? How does that work ?

For sure! It's amazing although it's getting PPF, tinting, and ceramic over the next week so I miss it already!

Yeah, I've never had this happen before. My residual was really high bc I haven't driven much since COVID started last year. I was 26k miles and 6 months away from the end of a 3 year lease where I had paid for 45k miles. Plus used car prices are really strong right now. So my buy out at this point was $48k. They gave me $56k for it and that saved me 1/2 the tax on the new one the way the maths work... then they listed it the next day online for $60k. lol I think I got good money for it and into my dream car. It pretty much just works like a trade-in when there's a balance left on the loan.

Who gave you $56K?
