Sorry if this has been done
50e LCI on the motorway really bad wind noise on drivers door , going to check this over the next week to rule out if it was just wind positioning/ direction

Mine has a faint whistling noise. I thought it was the mirror edges, so I covered a good bit of the mirror halves with ppf film, but it didn't change anything. Now it sounds more like it's coming from the top of the window. It's faint and with the radio up I don't hear it as much, so I've been lazy trying to track it down.

Others have had this issue and it was caused by the sun roof. There is a rubber strip that doesn’t line up correctly and causes a small gap that creates the whistle.

Will try and find the thread and provide a link.

Yep I had this on my last G05 and it was 100% the sunroof seal issue, it was always worse in the colder winter months. It very much sounds like it’s coming from the door window area but is actually above in the sun roof.

Crackerjack15, yes that’s it drove on motorway today and it’s seems better but I suspect it’s unfixable, door seals seam common issues on X5 s in general. My F15 doors seals were replaced several times.

I will add to list when it goes in for software upgrade!

TexAg91& Six my previous G05 did have this issue too and that had a sunroof, in fact at times it felt like the door was being ripped off in strong gusts! Never thought of sunroof but makes sense!

Thanks for input guys

Well it seems the strip is 1/4 too short on back edge of moveable glass. Will dealer replace this? I slide it so gap is on passenger side and I don’t hear it but passenger does now.

I slid it all across to the driver side and it fixed the problem for me. Never bothered to have it replaced after then. Passengers never complained either!

I’m glad I found this thread because honestly, I hear the same wind noise in my new 2025 ×5.
