Excellent! Wanted to do the same with ours, as I'll probably switch it to non-RFT's after the factory tires wear out. How much did the setup cost? Part number? Where did you order it from?

Same thought here, on the RFTs. It was $682 in total from bmwpartshub.com. They had okay pricing on the parts, and it was free shipping. I got 36-11-5-A3E-078, 71-10-6-889-264, 71-12-6-788-617, 71-12-6-886-420, 71-10-6-877-210, and 71-12-1-507-292. I didn't try to get the hold-down parts.

Excellent, thank you very much. Copied these down and will pick them up eventually.

Next up, Frisco rear seat car cover for dogs via Chewy in 55" size.

One of our dogs is a breeding dog that I need to get back and forth from MD to WV as needed, which is a 90 minute trip each way, and due to start very soon. Unfortunately she isn't the best in cars, but the X5 will be the best option for this due to its very nice ride quality, so need to protect the seats and interior.

Not super crazy about this, but will see how it works out. I don't like how it cuts off her forward vision between the front seats. She's a small 16 lb dog. I might put one of her beds propped up on some towels to raise her up a bit, and will see how she does. It's good that it covers up the footwell area because she's afraid of falling off of the seat, which I think is part of the issue with her in cars, especially my Suburban with 2nd row Captain's chairs. Going to be interesting either way!

Will be making about 20 of these 3-hour round trips over the next few years, so the X5 will be quite the dog hauler.

I received a belated Christmas present in the form of the covercraft custom fit UV sunshade. Super nice and fits perfectly over the windscreen. Used it today and it doesn’t have any folds once you lay it out properly. I have Llumar Air 80 UV tint already applied on my windshield, but this is a nice addition to protecting the dashboard and keeping the inside of my cabin cool 😎

Redid Dash Cam power cable today with the 15 footer from Amazon. The only place it's visible is right up against the A-pillar, and then when I tuck it below the floor mat on the left side. The cable matches the trim, so virtually invisible. I snaked it all around the passenger side footwell with the extra length, so it doesn't have to go across the door sill trim anymore. Much better.

I also got one of those Samsung FIT mini USB drives that playswcars posted a few pages back. My wife is enjoying the SiriusXM trial too much for now, so I might steal it and put it in my truck.

Also took the doggos for a ride with the dog mat down. Their first time in the X5 and first time getting a car ride in awhile, so they were pretty excited. They seemed fine, but the small diameter PVC anchors that you can stick between the seat back and seat cushion to hold it in place are too big to fit in the X5's seat cushion gap, so might want to weigh it down with a layer of blankets or a dog bed or something just to help hold it in place a bit better.

Next up: BimmerCode to set the car to default to Sport Individual and get the ASS disabled, but for now just hitting sport button right after start.

New to the G05 but got it tinted 20 percent all around over factory tint as well and 50 percent on the windshield.

I replaced my air filter, it still had the factory filter in it! What is BMW's recommend interval for replacing them? I figured it would have been replaced during dealer oil changes by now. The car is a '22 with 14k miles on it.

they changed mine at the 2-year/20k-mile service. it’s not a yearly maintenance item (though I think it should be)

Right? Seems to me it should be replaced once a year or 12k miles.

After 2 years, I finally decided to swap out the cerium grey grille with for a gloss black grille. I personally love the cerium grey but just wanted a bit of a change this coming summer.

Hey SteVTEC !! So the cable only shows at the top and bottom of the A Pillar? I am about to get a new dash cam and really want the cable to be a clean install and not visible as much as possible. Funny about the Samsung Fit as I just got one last week so that I could close the cup holder/phone tray and still listen to music.

Based on how much dirt and debris was in mine with only 14k miles that seems like a crazy interval. I put in a NAPA Gold filter for less than $30, seems like cheap insurance.

It does have the (more often in dusty conditions) caveat so you may fall into that.

I'm guessing you can get it 100% concealed. I just didn't want to risk deforming the trim. I'm told you can also tap power from the mirror assembly, in which case you only need a very short cable run, but didn't look into that specific for the G05.

Im fine with how little your cable is showing but I also had another question for you. Is there a particular reason you mounted the dash cam to the right of the rear view instead of the left? In my head, I am thinking of mounting it to the left would be easier in the event I need or want to hit the "emergency/save" button so that the video is not overwritten.

It's because I'm really tall (6'3") so I sit high enough in the seat that having a dash camera mounted on the left can actually obstruct my forward view a bit. My truck (Chevy Suburban) is so big and tall that it's not a factor in that one, so I have it mounted on the left for ease of button pushing if needed. The one I put in the X5 actually has a voice save feature. Haven't tried it yet, but will just use that to save recordings if needed.

First wash today, since it was actually in the 60's. Can't have the misses driving around in a dirty car, although I need to drive it tomorrow.

I noticed the brakes are dusting quite heavily, so left the wheels for now. Will get to those later when it's a little warmer, but looks like I need to re-up my wheel cleaning game once again! I thought BMW did away with the dusting pads, but I guess they're back again?

Looks awesome. I have the same color and need to do a wash on mine. Down where I am we hit 94 yesterday. It'll have to wait until after this week as we are supposed to get some rain a few days this week.
