I cannot see if there are more than one but it might be 64mm and gen 2 I believe there are 68mm and 50mm set for different cars.

@bimmerwerks, sorry for a delayed reply but I wanted to play around with Gen 2 lights one final time and give all of you my findings. So, as you can see below I circled the area where I made the cut and the projectors still go in tightly. After I cut the notches just a little bit it was still way too tight and very hard to get the projectors out so I cut a bit more. You don't need anything more than a box cuter to do the cutting. However, my problem as I described before is that the laser is partially hitting the painted metal part of the door just below the plastic trim where the projectors are installed. That's is not a problem for "M" logo lenses (after some adjusting around on the passenger side) but a real issue for "BMW" circle logo ones. The "BMW" circle logo lenses have a larger projected image and both my driver and passenger doors are partially blocking the projected image no matter how much adjusting I do. So, now I want to try the Gen 1 projectors. Given that I cut out the notches almost completely, does anyone know if Gen 1 projector will still fit tightly in the hole in the photo below? Thank you.

Gen 1 should fit tight enough. You could wrap around the sides of the light a few times with black electrical tape if for any reason it’s a bit too loose. Does the oem lights you took out still fit back in o.k??

Geez, now you guys have me scared about putting these in. I ordered Part #63-31-2-468-386 for my incoming 2021 G07 M50i.

That's exactly why I'm not going to even bother with any of these. If it's not as simple and straight forward as popping out the old one and popping in the new one, without trimming/cutting, then I'm not interested.

One more thing I noticed about 63-31-2-468-386. The one at getbmwparts or amazonstore has four lens options, whereas, the one that I bought and returned to the parts store at my dealer only had two lens options - one BMW logo and an M logo. The sleeve inside the packaging itself only had two slots for two lenses. Not sure why the variance between the parts store at the dealer and these external sites.

at 68mm like Gen 2, I wonder if these Gen 3 will also require a small trim to fit in G05...

Agreed. When/if BMW comes out with the ones "Specifically" for the G05/G07 then I will buy them. I doubt BMW would sell one of these that required any modification of the projector housing or the door socket. That's just asking for trouble.

If y'all are referring to the slide set, they are just new slides for insertion into the Gen 2 projectors, not an entirely new light assembly.

I like these new slides but the Gen 2 LED projectors these fit in have been problematic for our G05. because they're not the original, there have been issues with fit in the door as well as some of the projected images getting cut off.

i had a store credit, and since there was nothing else i wanted, i used the credit to nab Gen 2 LED projectors and new slides. i'll update after installation.

Update after struggling with the new Gen 2 projectors(63-31-2-468-386) on my G07 2021 X7. I kind of understand what is going on now.

63-31-2-468-386 is definitely a wrong part of G07, I can not speak for G05. People who manage to push it in with the M logo will not see any issues since the door projection will not be cut off. The inner housing of this projector is a bit larger and it hits one of the body plastic part inside the door. See the image. When tightly pushing it in, it slightly tilts the projector inwards and BMW logo projection is obstructed by the door.

Gen1(63312414105) projectors supposedly have a smaller housing which does not hit that body part. I just ordered this part from eBay. Will post an update if that fits in right.
