New iDrive feature?

Not sure if this is a result of my recent iDrive 7 software update, but this morning my vehicle constantly was giving me Danger Alerts about almost every intersection. it would override the Home screen and say "Danger Warning" and "Dangerous Traffic Situation Ahead" about a slippery section of road.
Is this related to the recent update? as it has never done that before when driving in snow or in icy conditions. It was very annoying, did it about 6 or 7 times just from home to work.
I can post a pic of the screen if needed.

Yes, it seems to be part of idrive 8.5 upgrade. I'm getting the same warnings since I did update.

Good warning... I'd be very curious of this change will affect iDrive 7, or if owners of older vehicles be spared from this. Since rolling back iDrive versions is "hard", hopefully we'll get this type of information in advance of this type of update (so I can permanently disable updating the iDrive software at that point).

I did receive a similar warning on iDrive 7. I was going around a curve on a ramp from one highway to another and the system prompted a warning sound with the message "Warning: taffic stopped ahead". Sure enough, the traffic had come to a halt ahead. I don't know if the cameras detected it (doubtful because there was no clear line of sight) or the system got it from the traffic updates.

I think this is part of the RTTI. I've gotten danger/hazard warnings about objects on the road and dangerous traffic conditions.

Do all recently built (Dec. 2023) X5 M60i´s have the iDrive 8.5 uploaded? Is it possible to disable these warnings?

I am not wondering, before I take delivery, if I'll be able to get used to it, for I must accept that my driving is a little more agressive than normal.

😀
Yeah I guess we would not expend the extra $$$$ for a TT V8 if we didn't.
