Delivery question
My car showed as production started on 3/18. I just spoke to the sales manager and he said that the car is due to be complete 4/1. This means I may make it before the shutdown.
Does this seem possible or not? |

Spent time at my dealership today going over my options for my order.
Based in what your saying him should be ok as long as it’s shipped before the factory closes. |

I guess if your car gets completed a couple of days ahead of schedule, there’s a chance it’ll get out to your dealer. I have no idea if cars being completed early is a thing or not though. Mine is due to be completed 4/1, and while I’m hoping it gets out of the factory and onto a carrier before the factory closes, I’m assuming it will be delayed. It seems like a few days is needed before production finishing and the car being loaded for transport, so I’m not getting my hopes up. |

some weird update in myBMW...my build moved today to scheduled and then back to order received. I don't expect to see it till easily June (based in CA - had several Individual parts) or later given some of the feedback people are mentioning about builds getting pushed out 10 weeks. Starts to make me wonder if just a few weeks longer I would benefit from a MY2021.

Good for you guys that work there.
Question - trying to imagine how it works with a factory shut down. What happens to the cars in the middle of assembly or will they shut it down after the last car is complete?

Typically they will run the line to empty. This also allows for other crews to come in and perform large scale PM's and other fixes. Contrary to what a shut down means, Typically it doesn't mean there is no one in the plant just the none "essential". But for this COVID case I'd be interested to hear what happens from a Tech or Engineer on site.

Yes it is hall 50. And yes originally it was 04/03 but due to supplier issues in several states and out of country they have to shut down sooner then anticipated.

Hopefully the car gets produced second half of April then. So production starts 04/13 and not 04/19? |

BMW closes its plants in Europe at least until April 19th. Doesn't Spartanburg get parts from those Europan factories?

I would hate to have my build sitting there for 2 weeks. Imagine the first day back and the people have to start in the middle of a tasks going "hmm....where did i left off again??" lol

How is the situation in SC? If I look at the map of the Johns Hopkins website I can't understand why Trump hasn't invoked quarantaine in certain states or cities for a few weeks. |
