Turning ASS off in LCI 2024
So long story short I got a 2024 x5 with no button to turn off auto start stop I was a little annoyed about that. But I found a way to turn it off without coding. Turn traction control off first option and it disables ASS. Might be a temp fix tell coding comes out I’m sure it drives people crazy same way it does with me.

Another way I found is when I back out of my garage, I get out of my car with the key fob in my pocket to go inside to turn the house alarm on and this causes the car's horn to double honk. For some reason this will disarm the ASS and the car stays running for the entire trip. I use the traction control method when not doing this at home.

Disabling traction is the way to go. Sport mode is wound up way to tight for daily use in my opinion. Definitely not jumping through hoops like getting out of my car etc every time I want to turn off ASS. Does anyone think there will be an option to code on the LCI? Everyone I’ve spoken too seems pretty pessimistic on the options. I had my transmission replaced recently and after the repair the ASS is smooth as butter. No clue why but it would still be nice to be able to turn it off.

ASS just needs to disable if it's cold outside. This is where the system won't keep the car off more than 10 seconds, shorter than the duration of a red light.
It should also know home location and not engange for times you are trying to garage park. Rob |
