With a new vehicle, you have a 90 days (correction) to see if it works. For me, it never worked at all.

in my limited suburban local travels, the Traffic Camera app has warned me of several red light camera intersections

It uses a database containing information on traffic camera locations as well as fixed and mobile radar sites.
Here is an article with some more information: https://www.forbes.com/sites/jimgorz...h=2c149cc95b7a

Also, I keep getting an alert on on stretch on the 110 freeway near USC but it’s for an intersection that is above the highway. Warnings for speed cameras would be helpful but those I don’t think are used all that often in cali |

I have recently subscribed to it in the UK and it works well and worth the money at £20 a year. I have the display pop up on my HUD and gives good notice to impending cameras. Just go to Connect Drive to subscribe.

Thanks - I was wondering how well it works over here. Just subscribed this morning but haven't tested (driven the car) yet.

Apparently in the US they get it on the car for 3 months and then subscribe. Not sure whether it shows mobile cameras in the UK but well worth buying although I wish it had a beep when approaching a camera as if you don't look at the head up can be missed. |

You can use Android Auto on your iDrive if that's what you mean by X5 Screen, those apps also alert you about speed cams/red light cams and moving speed traps as long as you set your route. Benefit of BMW is that it notifies you even if you don't have an active route set.
