Water spot removal - ceramic coated

I left my car outside for a few days and the sprinklers just hammered it. Today I set out to take care of the water spots. I am a little concerned about what I use as it is ceramic coated. I first tried elbow grease but that did not work.... did my normal wash routine but they still remained.

I then tried 50/50 white vinegar and water. I followed this with some quick detailer. removed many but still some that just wont come out.

How far can I go to get these off without damaging the ceramic coating? I am almost tempted to get out my polisher as I know that would take care of it in no time but would def eat into the ceramic coating.

I would ask whoever ceramic coated it. I had the same problem on my truck that is ceramic coated and clay bared it and it worked. I was actually going to go trade it in so not sure if I took coating off or not but it still felt very smooth. Good luck

Garage List
I allowed foam canon suds to dry on my ceramic coated LCI. Main manifestation was bad spotting on the glass that I couldn’t get out with conventional cleaning means. Assumed also on paint. Bummed but had three days’ out of town business meetings, assumed I’d figure out when I returned (last week). Hotel stay on coast caused car to be parked outside two nights. Heavy dew cover in the morning, was on the beach so likely a salt air component.

Spotting is gone. 🤷🏻

I’ve used a product called WSP (water spot remover) from Undrdog with great success on my glass. It says it can be used on painted surfaces also.

Good for you! I will say I’m thinking about doing my own in the future. We have a motorhome and we are about to downsize to a newer one and I think that will be my first attempt. Good luck getting the spots out.
