It's "normal", mine did this once, waiting for the encore performance where it goes into full failure stranding me after being told can't see any issues.

I had a check engine light that went away a day later on its own. I took it to the dealer anyway and they diagnosed a communication issue with one of the modules. They reprogrammed the vehicle and it didn't come back.
Two weeks later, I had a brief Drivetrain Malfunction warning show up on the dash before I started the car. It immediately went away on its own and didn't come back. Once again (a few weeks later) I went to the dealer. They had a regional BMW rep on site, who said they identified additional software communication issues and that there was now new software available for one of the modules. Neither of these warning lights seemed to impact vehicle performance but they did (and continue to) make me nervous. |
