My new X5 coming soon

Hi all, new to bimmerpost!

My 2024 X5 order is almost here. And I'm thinking of selling the stock 740M (20" M Star-spoke Bi-color Wheels, Style 740M with All-season Run-flat Tires) wheels/tires and upgrade. Any experience selling those and are there usually buyers in northern virginia area?

Thx!

The prices are all over the place. I live in Brooklyn and found a new takeoffs in Virginia, drove 4 hours to pick them up. It was $1,200 from facebook marketplace. Mine originally came with the 19s. I put 40k miles on 740m's now. I like the styling; I feel like they fit x-line trim more than the m package.

Oh nice! Was thinking of at least getting 2-3k so I can use it to fund the upgrade. I guess I will just keep my stock looks. Thx!

21s or 22s are more desireable and would bring more money.

i see. that wouldve been risky for me to order 21/22 and try to sell to get black 20s with all seasons. i wish more wheel options with all seasons were/are available with X5 when ordering instead of i have to sell/buy...

First, welcome and congratulations.

I've got the same 20" wheels you are thinking of selling. I looked into going with 21s or 22s and after researching, I decided to keep the stock wheels. While people love the look of the 21s and 22s, it comes with a price. The tire options are more limited and the price per tire is way more. Also, the tires offered in 21s and 22s wear out much more quickly. In additional, availability can be an issue.

I hope you get your wheels sold and get the wheels and tires that make your car your own. Just remember, when it comes to tire replacement, having 20s is a huge advantage. Please keep that in mind as you make your choices. Some members have posted later that they were shocked about the limited selection, limited availability, and high price of the 21s and 22s. The information is out there on Tire Rack. Please check it out.

Whatever you do, good luck and enjoy your new X5.

I'm not thinking about ice and snow, none of that here.

Thank you for the insights and the warm welcome

Yep, came to the same conclusion that I want to stay with 20s. But in black:

Wish BMW had that as an upgrade option instead of separate purchase...
