If you are in 111 then it will not be built this week. Give Genius a call and they should be able to give you your production week.

I have a question. I placed an order last Thursday for X5 40i with climate comfort Pkg. The dealer said every went in fine and I have an production # and see it on tracking website.

Question is I see someone posted that climate comfort pkg is no longer on the config on BMW website. Does this mean I will be told I can't have that pkg? Or just be pushed back. I was told build week is 24.

Any help would be great. If that's the case I may just pick one up in stock I don't want to get into 2 months or longer to get this pkg.

If it went into the ordering system then you should be fine as far as getting the package. Your CA can give you your production week or you can give Genius a call. I would think at this point the pushing back of builds is over, at least for this round. Let us know what week you get.

June 19th is actually Week 25. He is a little confused on the statuses. It will go into Production Begins about two weeks prior to your build date. At that point in time a VIN will be assigned and parts ordered/allocated. It does not mean that assembly has begun.

Thanks, you seem to know the system better than most. I hope I don't get held up because of the climate pkg, but you seem to feel when the order was put in last week the system took it and assigned a production #.

It obviously is possible that you would be pushed back but I don't think we have seen that with recent allocations/orders.

I think something else is holding your car up, March 15th is quite some time ago. Not the climate pkg.

How did you find out you were pushed back? I ordered mine May 17th haven't seen anything that would say I've been pushed back.

When I placed the order I was quoted week 22 build to take delivery some time in early to mid july (shipping directly to my house) today when I called the genius I was told production date has moved to 8/1

Your dealer couldn't tell you that? Why did you call the genius? The reason I ask is I'm trading in a vehicle so if I get pushed back that far my trade value won't hold. I'll find something is stock somewhere.
They won't honor the value another 60 days. What does the genius need to tell you about a delay in your build? Can they be reached now?

Your CA should be able to give you the same information but some don't or hedge on the info they give out. It always seems to be a good check to call Genius and ask what the production date is.

Genius is not very forthcoming with information either. Before mine went to 150, I couldn’t even get some of the geniuses to tell me the week.

My situation is a little different because i used a broker (next level auto) so to get information from the dealer I have to go through Dan. To skip the telephone communication I go straight to the genius. What made me contact the genius was that I heard about the shortages on parts so I wanted to confirm if my build was affected. I’m sort of trading In as well. My M340 currently has positive equity it’s a lease so I’m trying to sell it back to the dealer or another car company and get about 5-7k in cash. My M340 as equipped with the low miles would sell at like 53k as a CPO and my buyout is 41k

There are a couple I could jump on now at the dealer, about 90% of what I put together only it's 4K more in equipment. I'm sick of all this worrying about getting what you want. Spending a lot of money and have worry that you won't get what you want. Almost not worth the aggravation.

Yeah I totally understand where you coming from and I’ve been there back when I was trying to get the M340 with the lockdowns and factory shutdowns etc. it’s kinda sucks for me as well the X5 is for my wife and I was confident she would have it by her birthday (July). It looks like I’m get my M3 before X5. Which is ironic because I was prepared to have to wait until November for the M3.
I would said if you can wait it out. Theres nothing unboxing & delivery experience + getting exactly what you wanted.

Unfortunately no one is going to be able to guarantee a production week. While the overwhelming majority are built during the production week attached to the allocation there can be changes due to supply issues. The best they will be able to due is give you your currently scheduled week.

You may be correct in that premise and I understand that things aren't perfect but when dealing with a trade the sinking value comes into play. I'm not going to take a $500-$1000 hit because of a delay in parts. Not worth it. I'll try to find out if my build is affected right at this moment. If they yes your pushed back to August or later then I would put it on my dealer an ask about my trade in 60 days or more out. If they say it will change but can't say how much then I think I have to bale out and find something that's available very close to what I had built.

Sorry to hear that but it is a good data point. After another member mentioned being pushed back and correcting his order date I had a feeling we may still be in the supply situation. Hope he honors it, good luck and let us know.
