"Oldtimer" Bought a 2019 50i....tune?
Hey all, I used to be very active on the forums in what feels like a previous life with a FBO e92 335 and a turbo'd '99 M3.......I'm back.
Bought a CPO'd 2019 50i, 20k miles. I'm just starting the research and seems like most discussions around here are based on the M50i. Wish I could have bought one of those but just a bit above my range. BM3 is what I would likely do if I had purchased a 40i, but with the 50i there is much less chatter over tunes. JB4 maybe? 1) Does anyone have recommendations on tune? I'm not planning on going crazy with this one, just a basic stage 1 tuned 50i. 2) Drop in filter like K&N or BMC. I see the m50i guys going crazy over then. Worth it on a 50i? Any issues with oiled sensors downstream? My M3 would not like oil getting on the MAF but that's older tech. 3) Maybe at some point catless downpipes...maybe. I want reliable, no fuss and smooth. Would like to bump the excitement of the car with both a bit more exhaust note and pwoer. Car is CPO'd through Feb 2024 so I'd rather not lose that warranty if possible. Any help would be appreciated. Car should be here in the next two weeks, being shipped from AZ to MD. Photos for attention

Nice colors! I have a 2019 50i as well. Seems like the JB4 and Racechip are the only options, I've considered doing it but like my warranty. Let me know how it works when you buy one!

I'm in the same boat as you! Except my warranty is ending sooner (45k). Just picked up the car too.
I live near Bimmer Performance Center in North Carolina, I may ask them too, but I was thinking intake (for more wooshy sounds), downpipe, and a tune. |
