Downpipe Options for +24' LCIs?

Forgive me if this has already been discussed, but am I too early for any fitment confirmations on LCI 40i models?

I'm in an non-emissions county, so I'd like to explore some options without a lot of trial and error on my part.

Mostly asking because I learned out the gate that BMW made a super minor change on the intake filter shape from 2023 models (of course), so I'm hesitant on trying anything else just yet.

Thanks!

I’m waiting for X-PH to ship my AA B58 downpipe, guess I’ll let you know. Have a ‘24 40i as well.

I'm excited for you! haha

Looking forward to seeing things come available once manufacturers can confirm fitments.. as simple as a return can be, I guess I should just be patient.

Any update on fitment? Was this the same as the gen 2 B58 downpipe or did they make a new one? thanks!

If you change the DP, the CEL would come on.
The car has both pressure and o2 sensors and the slightest change will throw limp mode once you build boost past 3k rpm.
I even got an OEM DP and no avail even after i re-adapt with ESYS for a "new" OPF.
So far LEIB has the solution but you would need both the pressure delete kit and CAN delete kit to take away the limp mode and the CEL.
The other way, which i have went, was to FEMTO it and load MHD.
And im still waiting for my MCU after 4 weeks.

Well that was a lot of acronyms. Would some good old-fashioned O2 sensor "de-foulers" work in our application? Just taking them a bit further out of the air flow.

Sorry abt the "short-forms".
In essence, the car will immediately recognises the OPF was replaced. Even with an OEM downpipe, the car still threw tantrums.
The o-skool adapters doesnt work;i have tried those, so pls don't be taken in by what the sellers usually would say because they hadn't come to newer beemers yet. Doesnt work on the Supra RZ as well as i have that too.
The work on the basis of pressure (and o2 readings) and you will notice the stock downpipe has a o2 bung right before the 2 layers of OPFs and a pressure sender after it.

North American vehicles do not have OPF filter.

To OP:
Mine threw CEL right after new AA DP was installed.
I have driven it 200+ miles and the CEL has turned off, on its own.
It was just on due to cat not being fully heated up yet.
My 2022 X5 40i is fun as hell with the AA downpipe, Racechip GTS black, FTP charge pipe and BMS intake filter.
You'll have a blast!!

Appreciate the information! I originated from the Saab world, so a CEL of any duration doesn't usually bother me... but I just bought the X5 so it likely would. My x40i has the M Sport exhaust; would that make any difference in your recommendation above?

First thing I attempted was to change the intake filter using a 2023 part listing, but of course BMW's LCI had other ideas. This has made me super cautious in just jumping into anything just yet.

I have an M-Sport. But that doesn't have M Performance Exhaust.
Your '24 may have that performance exhaust depending on which packages you selected.
I will say the stock M-Sport exhaust sound is noticeably better (less muted) with the downpipe.

ActiveAutowerke B58 downpipe did NOT fit my 2024 X5 40i. Such a bummer. Will reach out to AA and see what they say.

Update: B58TU2 motor (B58 Gen 3) has a new downpipe design. I was the test mule it seems, as this shocked them a bit. The Gen 1/2 B58 downpipes are not compatible with the newest rendition of the B58. Active Autowerke will need to acquire an OEM downpipe in order to develop and offer one for 2024 X5 40i, or any platform with this engine.

Looking to sell this downpipe if anyone with a 2023 or earlier MY G05 X5 40i is interested.

Did some digging in October, and found nothing yet of course.. probably still super early.

In the spirit of not being able to leave a car alone, I went ahead and cut my resonator off, and replaced with a 3" oval section of pipe from Vibrant- so much better already. I'll continue to be patient!

Can you post a vid of what it sounds like pre and post resonator delete?

Pre-lob? No sir.

I'll try to remember to get a good video soon; sound alone makes for a pretty solid option, especially for the amount of effort.

Any updates on any new downpipes options yet for the LCI's?
