What interior color on 2024 X6M Frozen Pure Grey?
Hi all, I haven't been browsing the forum ever since I sold my black on black X6 M50d a year ago. I just ordered the 2024 X6M fully loaded in Frozen Pure Grey.
Now, my order went out with full leather in black, but I have second thoughts re the color (I believe I can still make a change and there is no price difference here). I'm debating whether the Silverstone would look better than the good ol' black or even Sakhir Orange. The combo of the new LCI launch car had these red seats and it does look good...but. Ok, the exterior color stays, frozen pure grey, I'm set on it. I would like to hear your opinions on which interior would go best with it and why others wouldn't. Resale comes to mind, is red interior too tacky? I can live with all three, but black seems boring and I had it before, Silverstone is to bright, too close to exterior color maybe....and Sakhir...where do I start. It's not even a love it or hate it thing for me, more like love it AND hate at the same time thing. But it's bold, it's more special and it looks more expensive in a way (think resale). If someone has real life photos of Silverstone/Sakhir on Frozen Pure Grey I would also be happy to see them. Btw, don't know how to create a poll here, but I recon it would fit here like a glove Last edited by chriscross; 06-10-2023 at 12:10 PM.. |

I was on the fence for a couple of weeks and now finally decided to change the order from black to full leather Sakhir Orange interior. Email sent! Done!
Seeing your combo, the pics of the 2024 X6M LCI in frozen pure grey on sakhir when introduced and the comments they're receiving pushed me to get out of my conservative black on black. I can only say I am now afraid and excited at the same time 😅 |

Has Frozen Pure been removed from the BMWUSA config? Not showing for me, it was an option couple weeks ago.

Picked up my frozen pure grey/sakhir orange X6M the other day...here's a few first impressions before I post some photos in a separate thread.
Needs to be said again, Sakhir orange is not orange at all, it's as red as red can be. Most photos online are not a good representation of the tone, I find the BMW's official photos of the new X6M LCI to be the closest to the real thing. It's almost dark red, pastel, depending on the light of course, but nothing is screaming... Frozen Pure Grey...wow. The paint is much darker in person than on any photos I've seen. I've seen an X1 wearing it before, but it looks different on the X6M somehow...in a good way. Sunlight will make it look silver, but only where it hits it directly, look along the body work and it will change into that sinister dark grey that looks like it's sucking in light somehow. Very interesting color. At pick up, I asked a couple of BMW mechanics and maintenance people that were around about real life experience with maintaining the frozen paint. They all said they regularly wash custumer frozen paint cars in the automated car wash, but never use wax or any other type of shine. The paint can take it, no complaints. I've seen a gazzilion posts about the swirls, shine, how frozen pain is pure horror to maintain...I'll run it through the automated wash and see for myself. Happy to hear your thoughts! |

Not to sound harsh but please do NOT run that car through an automatic wash. Put a Toyota through the auto wash.
Take it to a hand wash place. |

I hear you fellas, and I've read all there is about the frozen paints. People see swirls and scratches everywhere, automated car wash is of limits on cars like that in general they say, and with frozen paint you cant even buff those swirls out. I have ran my previous saphire black metallic through the auto wash again and again and saw no swirls or scratches, let alone major damage. Frozen paint layers are even thicker than regular metallics.
So what are we talking about here? I get the shine part, no wax, polish or gloss shampoos, ok. Anything else? |

We have the ivory interior with the frozen pure grey and love it. We wanted a non-white but light interior to give the cabin an airy feeling and got precisely that.

Is your vehicle of course at the end of the day. I wouldn’t personally pay for a frozen color and use automatic car washes. I don’t use them in general just given the nature of the paint itself.
If you’re fine with not caring about seeing a few in the paint then you’ll be fine. There’s a reason why we place the “DONT WASH” note inside of our cars when having the dealer do any work. |

I tried to take a couple of photos to show what the Sakhir orange interior actually looks like in person. It's hard to capture it, just like the frozen pure grey paint, but here it is without filters and taken with an iPhone 15 pro.
It's far from bright firey red as seen on some photos...and like many said before, it's not orange at all. The frozen pure grey has a million looks and handles dirt extremely well |

I’ve got frozen on my m8 and take it through a regular car wash every single week. Just as long as it doesn’t have polish it will be fine. 3 years no ppf and it still looks great. Nothing to stress about imo plus you’ll be getting a new ride in a couple years, ppf is for the second owner not the first.
