Auto adjust speed limits

Hello all,

I've been having a look through the forum but can't find the answer I'm looking for.

I see on other people's photos that they have 2 settings for auto adjust speed limits. Also, my car was in for a service the other day and my loaner had 2 settings.

My car only allows me to set one set of criteria as you can see in the image.

For clarity, some cars allow you to have different offsets for different speed limits. E.g +5mph for roads with a limit >60MPH and +3MPH for roads <40MPH.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have the drive assist pro pack (lane keeping and all the radar jazz) and currently running 11/2020.50

are these settings for when the ACC is in use? for example, you're on the highway going 55mph then the vehicle recognizes the speed limit increased to 65mph. it will increase the vehicle speed at 5mph increments until it reaches 65mph. Maybe?

Yes that is correct. It can automatically raise or lower the speed depending on the traffic signs

You can chose to copy the speed or to automatically some mph higher (or lower but I don't know who would do that.

My car indeed allows me to set a speed for lower and higher speed. I think the second one only show one you set the first. Not sure.

I don't really use it because it is to brisk. What I do use is the set button on the steering wheel to copy the speed my self. Currently I just have it set to the speed limit. That works well for me.

I have a 45e December 2019 11/2020 driving assistant pro in Belgium.

Could also be the local regulations?

It's part of aSLA which is standard in the UK.

For other regions such as the US, aSLA needs to be coded, and it's extensive FDL coding.

For those that have aSLA already, the extra offset value was introduced in MY20 and can be FDL coded.

It's VOFFSET_LANGSAM set to gen1 in both HU_MGU and BDC (7083)

I grouped the aSLA coding in with TLA which I've pulled due to some regional issues, so I don't have any aSLA coding live currently, but if you can find one of my older spreadsheets it can still be coded. There might be some links on the cartech forum too.

For reference, and to the OPs point, I have MY19 G05 and have coded these later MY configurations with no additional hardware, etc:

- aSLA extra offset
- auto lane change (SWA)
- Assisted Driving View
- Traffic Light Recognition
- Traffic Light Assistant
- Green Light assistant
- Adaptive Distance Control- adjusts cruise distance to route conditions
- Emergency Highway lane formation
- auto adjust speed to route (slow for next exit) when using indicators, even when NAV not running and on urban roads
- Advanced bend adjustment/slowing
- Advanced lane departure warning, which does not disengage if crossing the centre line when using Assisted Driving
- Emergency Halt Assistant with SWA - when driver unresponsive, it slows the car to a stop and pulls to the hard-shoulder before calling the emergency services
- Active lane guidance - prompts and wiggles the steering wheel encouraging the driver to use the SWA to change lanes ahead of a highway exit - dont like it
- no under/overtaking - dont like it
- various HUD display changes included with later MY

I recently upgrade from a MY19 to a MY21 M50i, I don't notice any HUD upgrades... Could you explain what changes I should be seeing.

Thanks!

Mainly lane positioning for nav, auto switch for Rev counter, and a few others that are model specific

I'll post the differences when I get access to my pc later

Thanks a lot for this.
Could you please clarify for me, is there any physical hardware differences between the model years in terms of processors?

I personally find it infuriating that my car doesn't have the same software "toys" that other cars have even though it seems perfectly capable of running them once coded.

I'm not aware of any relevant hardware changes, other than atm2, which was introduced post MY19, and some additional high performance side sensors at the rear flank which I believe are used for the auto PDC brake on flank

It moves from Wert_01 (MY19) to Wert_03 (MY20)
Wert_03 = 00, 00, E6, 7E

You could also try FF, FF, FF, FF.

I've not experimented with it but it could be for testing future updates.

It's KOMBI so it's both the driver display console and HUD

Try them yourself to see the differences as it varies based on model, engine, and options, plus also idrive config.

Either regional regulatory restrictions or BMW just don't roll them out to earlier MY.

On the latter point that has historically been to incentivise new MY purchases

Hi ifr
since i have a g21 which may have different parameters from your car, i wanted to try to test the g21 2021 model dkombi myself.
But I have a problem

I make a new fa with 2021 model
I done construction preview svt calculation as written in the manual (and then save xml file)
But when I try to calculate ncd/fdl with these files, esys x doesn’t show me any result because in my svt all ecu are not “green color”

I can't figure out where I'm wrong
Can u help me?

Maybe I solved..
I need to click on construction progress and not on construction preview… right?

I also try to compare the two VO of dkombi and the first 6 lines (of differences) match yours

You might as well use your own SVT from your own car. No need to do a construction preview when you already have the actual SVT that you need. You'd only do a preview for a different model normally.

The SVT/ECU that are relevant to your car, and can therefore be coded for your car, are defined in your own SVT based on your current i-step.

The construction preview would be useful for other model comparisons or maybe looking at a newer i-step than you are currently on, but you wouldn't be able to like for like compare with your existing car if new cafd are used e.g. your car has SAS2 but the newer i-step is SAS3. The compare function would fail.

On your point about construction preview/progress - yes its hard to tell which is which with a specific rendering of the GUI and screen resolution- the second word is missing so most likely that was your problem.

i noted this parameter TNK_VOLL_ANZEIGE: 38_liter [4C]
in actual caf is TNK_VOLL_ANZEIGE: 54_liter [6C]... so I think I did something wrong in the construction of the FA
i use all my actual data (VIN, color, polstercode, typschussel, all my SALAPA elements ecc) and i change only the datum in april 2021
i also use my last svt of my car (i followed your advice and didn't build a new svt)
but this is the result

any help?
Thanks
