This must be a stupid question, but I can't figure out how one pauses or stops a playback (stored media or music via carplay)?

Turning volume all the way down seems to pause it, but it's inconvenient.

ok, answering my own question - pressing on a little speaker icon in the top-right corner of the screen stop and mutes playback.
Not the most convenient way, but at least a one-click method.

You can just click the volume button in as if you are turning the radio off. It pauses the music on a CarPlay / Bluetooth / USB source.
