Stock to stock... The F97 comp is much harsher than the F95. I ran the F97 stock in Italy, and it was acceptable as a DD on northern Italian asphalt and autostradas (pretty good). Relocated to Maryland last year and couldn't tolerate it on these roads. MSS urbans made it tolerable again, and the 1" lower COG compensated for the slightly softer compromise. I've only put 1k mi on the interstate bringing the stock F95 up from Spartanburg to MD last week, but it is definitely a more pliant ride. I'd honestly equate an F97 with MSS to a stock F95. After this road trip, I wouldn't have felt the need to install the MSS were it not for the fact that the F95 is just too damn high from a practical view (I'm only 5' 9" trying to climb into this beast) and also an asthetical (factory wheel gap kills me on this ride). MSS will cure the gap issue, and even if it's slightly softer, should once again compensate with a significantly lower COG. I'll be doing some serious towing with mine, so I'll onlyower it an inch.

Is that stock, level road, from a standstill? If so, that's impressive. Does it feel fast or does the ride height and size cover up the acceleration?
100% stock from stand still and launch control. I was shocked, the power on this beast is amazing.

I tried launch control for the first time the other day - on winter tyres it left 100 yards of expensive rubber tracks up the road! It's seriously quick in a straight line.

does the car have a way to measure time from 0-60 in launch control mode?

Not the 0-60, I used a GPS app without OBD connection which is more conservative than actual numbers. AFAIK M Laptimer measures lap time. There are plenty of aftermarket apps that use OBD connections for direct readout from the car (draggy is one that is used a lot by pros).

I bought a Draggy for my F97 and look forward to using on my F95.

That is , by far , the most accurate way to test.

I have a Vbox and a Dragy.

Both match the drag strip.

Tried an iPhone APP, not good.

Tried the BMW obd2 plug in thingy , not good.

Looking forward to your stock numbers.

Ciao Onfire. It's in the beauty shop getting all the basics done now and then goes straight in for the pipes and springs. When I get her back she's due for the RIS. So, TBH, she won't technically be entirely stock with the pipes at that point, but I doubt that'll do much of anything without a tune. I will run the numbers and post here regardless.

No unfortunately - Dragy or v-box the best option I think for this as others have mentioned. I'm not really that interested tbh - its just out and out quick and that's all that matters to me.

As said 45k is an awful lot of money to pay for the better interior so in terms of value the X3MC is a better bet and I wouldn't expect an X5M to keep up with the X3MC on a country road too big too heavy and a bit sloppy.

Check out this Car and Driver video. The X5M set a faster lap than the X4M. Both tires kept coming off the ground in the X4M when they cornered which resulted in less confidence and slower lap time. The X5M was more planted they said.I thought the X4M would have been quicker than the X5m but not in this example. My X5MC blows my mind at what it can do. I think it looks better than the X3M due to its porportions.

Cant compare the two cars. Theyre in completely different price tiers for a reason. The F95 interior has a wow factor that the F97 lacks especially when equipped with full leather, B&W etc. Whats more fun to drive? Well thats a different story and subjective.

The ride on the F97 is unbearable as a DD (to me at least) on roads here in the Northeast. It feels like the car is going to break over even small road imperfections. The F95 is no floaty soft ride either but it is far more comfortable than the F97. And yes I have driven both (and own one) There are times I wish I had opted for an M50i but then I see the 818 wheels and other M exclusive options and find that I made the right choice

Having owned both a '20 x3mc and a '21 x5m. I prefer the x5m. I use mine for majorly road trips.
