A higher performance brake system might let you lock up the brakes with less effort, but once the clamping force locks the wheel, a bigger set of brakes won't stop you faster. Better cooling and mass should let them work under more harsh conditions longer. As was stated, once you've activated ABS, you've reached the maximum the tires can support. All of the brake options can do that if you press hard enough.

22s with the oversized red calipers just looks so bad ass. Very willing to pay for this look.

LOL completely agree with you. For daily road use, blue or red it doesn't really make a difference. We just want the red because grannies are now driving around with blue callipers. BMW giving them away like they're rotting.
Models with larger discs offer reduced brake fade and better fidelity, but the average person pottering around town is not going to notice.
Red just looks cool. Its what we want

You're correct for some models there is absolute no difference. I was referring to the general difference across all BMWs without going into model options.

I have not seen any models that were different between blue and red mSport brakes but maybe years ago they were. Of course since we are on the X5/X6 forum the question is being asked in regards to them.

I have blue, which look great when the sun shines on them and you can see them, but 90% of the time in the UK you can't see them at all!

I am looking into getting mine painted red. I've noticed the red calipers match the bit of the tail lights and reflectors you can see from the side.
