There was one guy on the German X5 forum that didn't have a code either, but many did. And there's also the first 50e that completely broke down (shifted to N on the highway and wouldn't move after it came to a halt) within 50mi of picking it up.

Checked and mine has STOP024880 as well. It's a M60i build that's currently on a train somewhere. So that one wouldn't be a 50e thing.

I have a M60i build that arrived at the dealership at the end of last week. They contacted me about the STOP024880 but said they have no idea yet on when delivery can be made. Not sure what I am going to do, maybe consider pulling out of the deal. Any further word about this knee airbag issue yet?

Guy on the German X5 Forum had action code 0065230400 as well and the dealer asked him to come in for the OS 8.5 update. Afterwards the action code was gone when he checked his VIN again so this code appears to be the 8.5 update.

Cool! Hopefully the car and battery doesn’t give up after the first 50 miles

My apologies it seems the owner was mistaking some other SW-Update for the 8.5 update. While he did get some update that made the code go away it does not appear to have been the 8.5 update.

No surprise, not due until later in year.

Week 22 - from German website
Rückrufcodes: STOP024882, 0065230400 Intersting - I think when I checked 2 days ago it was green all clear - now I get the blue with 2 codes. Maybe they are in the process of updating some list? |

BMW uses just in time (JIT) processing...the parts arrive pretty much a few hours before they actually get installed so scheduling is critical. |

Once it’s produced, is BMW pretty quick to ship out and get to North America? With Porsche the once released from factory, getting it on a ship took like 3 weeks - hoping it’s quicker for BMW. |

Canada is pretty big...so there could easily be a big difference depending on what part you're in. It seems like they don't sit for more than a week before they start to move, but again, your dealer should be able to help you track it.

Your BMW X5 is being built in South Carolina and not Germany, so it won't be put on ship.

My soon to arrive X5 also has a defect code of 0065230400.
It is not a recall. See screenshot 1. SIB 65 20 23 describes about the above defect code. It is simply an item that a dealer can claim to inform the customer of the update to iDrive 8.5, if the I-level is updated higher than S18A-23-07-523 at the workshop. If the software is not upgraded higher than S18A-23-07-523, no action is required, and the service action can remain open. The actual delivery stop relates to another issue regarding tank leakage detection module, and does not affect every vehicle - SIB 16 04 23. |

I originally had the STOP024880 for my X6 M60i, then it was that plus 0065230400.
This morning only the 0065230400 code is showing, STOP024880 is gone. I don't know what this means. I was scheduled to pick up at delivery center next Friday, it's not officially cancelled yet. |

50e How do I know if my build has been impacted. The tracker says today is the day your car Begins production since end of June. I called Genious and they said that the car is expected to me completed tomorrow 7/14 but that the tracker has not been updated but that it stated production 6/22 Seems like a long production time. VIN # 5UX43EU05R9T20373

I know what I would do. I would decline the delivery and I would look at the gas model. I wouldn’t touch this car for at least another year . It would never be worth the headaches to have to live at the dealer or fight with them to get something fixed or a buy back . I don’t even take my car back to a dealer for a oil service for the simple fact you can never trust their work and they don’t care what they do to your car. I cannot imagine, trying to work with the service advisor shop, foreman BMW, North America to get this fixed in a timely manner and then having their mechanics work on it . And trying to fix it. All I can say if you got one on order and you’re reading this post I would move on quickly.

Bigger battery but a lot of the technology must have been carried over that they would have screwed the car that bad lol. They have had a couple bad parts but doesn’t seem to be the end of the world. Heard equally good posts where people have not had any issues. |
