They then fill out the Special Order form (see attached) and email it in to get approval.



Once they get approval then the color for the order is changed to be the color ordered.

That means the your our has been accepted against an allocation and the production week has been confirmed. Genius or your CA can give you that.

I pulled the order sheet again that they sent me... yeah it says status is 047, which says it's in the order bank

That is what we figured. Once they have an available allocation, the order bank is filled FIFO, then they will be able to request approval for the Individual paint.

We bought a 50e on 9/28/23, 3 days later it was towed back to dealership were it has been in service to this day 1/14/2024 (108 days). BMWNA is buying the 50e back this week. In our case the problem was the BMU(Battery Management Electronic Unit), the replacement unit was ordered from Germany, but even with BMWNA Tech assistance they could not resolve the problem for 3 months.

There is a chance they got another defective BMU or like in this forum it has become a systematic problem that BMWNA wants to fix before sending out any more 50e. I can see BMW not wanting customers to cancel their orders if they admit to a problem they are trying to resolve, so that could be part of the delay too.

I checked in my area of Southern California in 19 dealerships, 200 mile radius, there is not one 50e in transit!

Our dealership has been outstanding, great customer service, lending us a 2024 EV and always keeping us informed. We have decided to give the 50e another chance since it is a great drive and meets the EV needs for us.
The dealership upgraded us to a M Sport at a huge discount as a customer loyalty incentive, our new one ordered on December 7, 2023 is "tentatively" scheduled for March 11-17, 2024.

I would go enclosed but also keep in mind it was on an open carrier to go to the dealer. Granted it had the shipping wrapping on it.

I thought those blue pieces in the headlights were only for the laser lights. What did you spec to get those? I've only seen that blue on the European LCI models.

The full LED with cornering lights that come with the Premium package have the blue pieces.

It’s equipped with M sport and the premium package, so I assume it’s the Full LED lights with cornering lights that is part of the Premium Package.

That is for the G05, the X5M is different. 3MF's are standard on them. 3MF - Shadowline lights are part of the M Sport Professional package for the G05.

That sucks. I really like those blue accents. Hadn't seen it on any of the LCI X5 MC's or X6 MC's but on the Pre LCI seems like they had them.

I still hadn't heard anything, so I asked why the status went to 047 when I was supposed to have an allocation. "The individual color process goes backwards a bit, it sits in 047 until the special color is approved" is what I was told.

Given that I just now saw the post about MY25 SOP being in April, the idea of no more Individual colors for MY 24 is starting to make sense. Guess i get to call dealer tomorrow and find out what they know.

At this point BMW may not have any Individual batches scheduled yet for MY25. If it follows last year it probably will be June or so until they do some Individual paints.
