i have the X5 45e. [Hybrid] Eco Pro is also the most fuel-efficient drive mode

in Hybrid (standard), Adaptive, or Sport drive modes, i see between 22-27mpg which extrapolates to about 400-490 miles. in Hybrid Eco Pro, it's about 530 miles. note that the 45e's fuel tank is smaller than the M50i's

I have played with it last summer (30d), on a 2000km trip holiday, lot of motorways. Well, the difference at the end has been really minimal, probably 5% of range increase. I have not read the instructions but to me, the only thing it does, is to change gears at a lower RPM and lower the power of AC...which in hotel Italian summers is not ideal, hence the tradeoff with 5% gain is not enough.
Just my point of view of course, you guys may have lot of more tech insights. |

Yes, I use it all the time. I’ve taken 1 road trip to date. A 700 mile round trip in one day.
My speed was 70-75 mph and I started with a fully charged battery and I drove in hybrid eco pro mode using the BMW navigation. On the first tank, with a full battery, I averaged 31.5 MPG and drove 465 miles before I refueled with about 80 miles of range remaining. So I could have easily gone more than 500 miles on the first tank. Obviously I could not have gone that far on the second tank, but I still kept it in eco pro and averaged 27 MPG on the second tank at 70-75 MPG. As I understand from reading the owners manuel, eco pro when used with the BMW native Navigation will optimize the use of the available electric power (to assist on hills, and low speed driving) to minimize fuel consumption. |

I always drive in Adaptive mode in my 45e. What will I notice as different if I start driving in Hybrid mode?

The range has a lot to do with the driving style, we should look for the best mpg

I really havent messed with adaptive but from confort to Eco, throttle response is less captive and aggresive, shifts are smoother and at lower RPM range.
