X5 50e right hand drive plug in location

Hi All, just looking at installing a power outlet in my garage to suit the X5 50e incoming. LHD models have the charge point located on left side as looking from front. Is the charge point located always on same side regardless of LHD or RHD? Thanks

Pretty sure the charging port is in the same place on all models as is the fuel filler. Charging port is on the front left, and the fuel filler is on the back right.

Your next plug-in vehicle could easily have the port in a different location. I installed mine for an i3, and the X5's in on the opposite diagonally. The cord on my EVSE was long enough to get hung from the ceiling to get to the X5's port. Now, I suppose I could back into the garage, but it's fairly tight, and much easier to just drive it in forward.

My right hand side drive X5 has the charge port on the front left side (passenger side) and the fuel filler on the rear driver, right side.

Personally I'd have preferred the charge port on the driver side as it makes for less trips round the car plugging and unplugging...

Uep thanks for the tip. Had a thought of hanging charge cable from ceiling. Might go on front wall inside the garage. Hard to 'future proof' when charge ports all over the place... maybe next port is on top of the turret!!
