BMW X5 Window Tint!
How's It going guys I am new to the forum. Just purchased an X5 40i about a week ago and the first thing I did was go ahead and get the windows tinted. My spec is Alpine White with the cognac interior. I was debating a lot about what amount of tint to get before and even after I purchased the vehicle. I ended up deciding that doing 15% all around was the best for me. Technically it is 15% in the front and 3% in the back since the 15% in the back is over the factory 20%. I decided to leave the windsheild untinted for now, but might change my mind after a while. I will try and post some pictures of what mine looks like. I'm curious what kind of tint have any of ya'll put on your X5s?

Update: I have no idea why all these photos are sideways. That's frustrating.

Looks great!
I had the same problem with pics. Edit them by rotating them, and then rotating them back to the normal position. Then upload. I have no idea why, but it worked for me. |

18 is a good amount. I had 18% on my previous car and it worked great. Now I am debating doing the windshield. Maybe 50%, but not sure yet.

I would like to have my front windows tinted to match the back.... but I'd don't want to go darker than that.
Car isn't here yet.... but can I assume that the back is 20% from the factory? Would that change with my accoustic glass option?

Much darker than 20% IMO. I would guess the back windows are below 10%. You will never get an exact match b/c the tint you will put on the front windows will most likely be ceramic - ceramic film will always look different than tinted glass - even if you match the % light transmittance.
