Remote start option

Hi there,

I didn't order remote start option from factory. Can this be added now? Is it only software or needs hardware installed also?

Cost?

It seems to be software but it is country dependent as well. It seems to be available in US and Canada. It does not seem to be available in UK or Australia. Whether that is something which can be overcome through coding is questionable as it needs the connected app to also give the option, which is independent of the vehicle coding.

Don't need connected app for remote start with key right? Does that work outside NA?

Correct. That should theoretically be possible if it can be coded.

Sent my VIN to my SA he came back saying remote start is not available for my X5
