ConnectedDrive app Remote funtion not working
Recently, anyone live in Canada Ontario area have same issues??

Happened to me last night, except the Lock/Unlock feature. I deleted the app and downloaded it again and it seemed to work.
Also, back when I had the same issue in the summer...I signed out of ConnectedDrive app and deleted it, then went into the car with the phone disconnected and all. Once in, power on the electronics, go to the Apps Page. Hit the OPTION button behind the iDrive knob and hit Update Apps and Services. Let that finish then download the app and sign back in. That was the only way I was able to fix the issue. Hope it still works! |

Damn! I see you're in Canada...I wonder if the servers are wonky? Not sure if they have separate, as I believe all things internet are magic.
It's weird since some people are not having the issue. Did it work before? Wonder if it's software in the car that's causing the problem. |

I would take it to the dealer...not sure if it's worth the drive/time, but if it's not acting right...it would be annoying. Before I got to 07/2019.70, it kept showing my car as a 5 series sedan. Needless to say, the remote 3D view was spotty. I am hoping to RSU for XMAS!

Exact same issue here, but its not really something that I care about so not dealing with it for now. BTW, my remote 3D view hasn't worked since delivery, but all other remote functions work fine. Already tried all suggestions from here while still at the dealership, same issue.
Remote start/stop, lock/unlock, work perfectly and those are really the only functions I care about.

Tried to remove the Profile from the car but having a difficult time removing entries from the screen. What is the best way to delete entries in error. I guess that I'm not too good with the touch screen wheel

midwestbmwguy What's your software version in the car and iOS app? I just noticed in your app, the fuel level says 100%, but mine is in gallons. That's just weird, maybe related? Probably not.
I would check your privacy settings on your phone. If you have an iPhone on iOS13, check the following. 1. In the CD App on iOS, if you go to More at the bottom right, and tap settings at the bottom of that screen, what are your settings? I have everything enabled, and Location set to "While Using". 2. On your iPhone, if you go to settings then down to ConnectedDrive, what are the settings? I have Location set to "While Using", then everything is turned on, including Background App Refresh and Cellular Data. 3. Also, redundant, but if you go to Settings on your iPhone and tap Privacy, I assume location services is on. I know you probably did all this, but it's just strange! Below are my software versions. X5: 07/2019.70 iPhone: iOS 13.2.3 BMW CD App: 10.4.1634 Sometimes, I will go into settings on the CD app, then go into Privacy and Terms, and Delete All Application Data. It's probably the same as deleting the app and reinstalling though. |

Took it to Baron BMW their genius who I knew from his stint in Columbia Missouri Jason Wolters corrected the issue in less than three minutes. very surprised and shocked that BMW would not tell customers how to do this. You take the volume button and hold it for about a minute and it cycles a hard reset.
Three minutes later it’s communicating with the car showing the location and all features are working. Again hold the volume button pushed in for one minute and all screens go blank. Three minutes later it works. |
