Coding Engine Sound on G05
I was pocking around HU_MGU module to see if I could find anything about Active Sound Design (ASD) and while I didn't yet see anything about ASD, I did come across two interesting FDL parameters:
DISPLAY_MENU_CONFIGURATION_ENGINE_SOUND currently = disabled [00] try = enabled [01] DISPLAY_CONFIGURABILITY_ENGINE_SOUND currently = nicht_aktiv [00] try = aktiv [01] also exists = aktiv_no_sport [02] I set enable and aktive respectively for both and now have the ENGINE SOUND menu in Car/Settings/General per pics. But ... the menu items are not selectable, so it's not going to be that easy. Any ideas on where to look for next steps?

I've just learned on another thread that M50i has that menu active from factory. So, anyone out there with an M50i (and that menu functioning) that's into coding willing to supply your FA, SVT, and, most importantly, full set of NCD files for differential analysis?

I can share mine, but it might be a week or two before I can pull all the files. Is there a more streamlined way to read all the coding data than 1 at a time?

Bimmercode can turn on active sound now (it doesn't seem to add these menu items though, so may try to turn on the menu items now that I have active sound turned on. Bimmercode turns it on in an ECU called RAM if that helps.

Seems no as no expert mode on that ECU, so you would need an esys setup to do it.

For these engine sound settings, I haven't made much progress. I had done a few comparisons against synthetically generated coding files from M50i VINs and nothing jumped out. I would really prefer to compare directly against a known working M50i FDL FA, SVT, and full NCD set. Anyone? I played with ASD in my car, noted in another thread, and decided to leave ASD turned on: https://www.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...php?p=25495306

You can try in Bimmercode. If it doesn't show there (which could be the case if hardware is not present or coded out by VO coding from factory), I will look up the FDL parameters for ESys coding it when I get a chance.
