Net in cargo area

It's been driving me crazy that in such a big cargo area, there's no little net to keep my spray bottle of water, a roll of paper towels , tar remover and a microfiber cloth handy. Having mild OCD, I can't get into my car with bird $hit or bugs splattered, so I usually wipe them off when I get to my parking garage for work. Anything more serious I'll take care of at home.

I guess they want me to store them in the *first aid hatch, but seeing it's unfinished and with all those wires, I hate putting stuff in there.

Every BMW I've had has had a nook, a net or something to hold them conveniently in place. I feel like they just forgot about it.

I took matters into my own hands and fixed it for myself. And I can't be happier!

Good job. I put my emergency detailing kit under the trunk floor in a zip plastic case you get your bed sheets in.

Thanks, and yup, I hear that! I've got a few other detailing things things under there in Tupperware with Velcro, but was concerned that my "special" water bottle that my goofy kids pimped up for me would leak if it wasn't right side up. And it's easier to just grab from the net daily

Where did you get the net? And if aftermarket how did you attach it? I'm interested.

It’s an OEM BMW part for a passenger footwell (51 47 0 429 466), there were lots to choose from on Amazon. I didn’t want it to be tight across, there wouldn’t be enough room for my needs. If it’s ever empty, it tucks in neatly.

I took the panel off, lined the eyes up, drilled 4 holes in the panel. I used black nylon license plate bolts through the eyes on the net and through the drilled holes (the screw hooks that came with it weren’t long enough, I think they are meant to go into carpet and not carpet/plastic). 18 minutes from start to finish.

I keep my supplies like that in the compartment under the trunk area where the spare is. Plenty of room.

This short video shows the proper net, apparently comes with luggage pkg.
Looks like an easy install....just need to find the BMW part.

I think I've found one I'm going to try for the rear cross opening net:

Part # 51-47-7-332-111. It's listed as for the outgoing X6, which was a bit wider IIRC than the F15 X5, and should be the perfect size for the G05.

Searching through 20 pages of parts catalog results containing the words "cargo" "net" or "luggage" finds only this one that even looks the same.

Its expensive for what it is but I think this is it.. .. There are multiple versions and of course one for the right and one for the left side of the cargo area.. .. see #10. This pic doesn't seem to look like the soft cargo liner material and it could be the left side that we're looking at in the pic. Here the website I happened across.. .. I'm sure a part number search will turn up a US website

Side nets missing

just went to my first service appointment at local dealership

They said will need the car a few days to do some warranty replacements and 1st car service

On the second day I rang back because the loan car x1 keep feeding me with warning messages.
After hearing no news, on the 3rd day I receive map notification that the car was parked at a location around 10-15km away.
I called the service centre and sent the loan car back in the afternoon.

They told me i could pick up my x5.
I found out that the cargo side nets were both missing after service.
It has been 3 weeks since it went missing. They tried to argue it was not there in the first place?! I was using the car everyday in the last 10 months!

Very disappointed with how they handled and doubted you as a customer.
about 11 months ago, I walked in to have a look and sealed the deal within half an hour. This is how they treat you.

sounds like a piss poor dealer. It should show as an option on your window sticker and under your VIN since you have the cargo package where those are standard. I wouldn't back down

Interested in this as well. I always check the app when I'm not with the vehicle for service or detailing.
