22" PSI?

What's everyone setting their 22" psi at? I think 39/45 (as per USA manual & door jam) is too high, no? 39/45 is for under 100mph but with the car loaded with passengers and/or luggage.

The door jam sticker is for full load. 5 passengers and cargo. If you drive alone or with 2, I would keep the preassures in the 30s. Will be more cmfortable and with spirited driving they will warm up. Your target preassures will be high 30s or 40

Start with 35 front 38 rear -cold. See how it feels

I think bmw is cautious too because they are low profile tires on a heavy car. So if you drive over curbs or big potholes there is a possibility of pussing through to the rim

Thanks
You would think lower psi would provide more cushion for the wheel?
I'm going to try 3 psi lower all around 36/42

Those are the pressures I'd run - 36/42

Interestingly in the uk/European market the 22 run at 32psi front 35 psi rear. That’s for all models which obviously weigh different due to engine sizes. That’s the lower settings for up to 5 pax . Can be much higher loaded.

I saw that post on the OPs front premature wear. I take it you provided that link to suggest the OP's 22" psi (35/37) were under inflated and could be the cause of his excessive outer edge wear?

35 is not underinflated by any means. Its 35 cold. This preassure will go up and be closer to 38 drivimg.
If younare aggressive. 40-42

Its tafget preassure one should monitor. Tafget preassure depends on your driving style and outside temp. You want your preassure not too much higher than 40 at highest

High presuure is worse. - tire will cup. and only have middle touching the road thus reducing the contact patch and sliding more and increasing preaasure more and cupping even more
You cans see that by tire wearing in the middle. Most cars now have it because tires are overinflated

I'm thinking it's PSI related.
