switching tire size
I’m done a bunch of research and I think I’ve got my bases covered but wanted to ask ya’ll before I made any final decisions as tire/wheel sizing admittedly confuses the hell out of me for some reason.
Current setup is perelli pzero for summer at stock sizing (275/40 front 315/35 rear. Winter tires are 275/40 all around and perform great. I HATE runflats and these perelli’s are just the worst. I’m due for new summer tires and I’m thinking of throwing on 275/40 pilot sport 4 SUV all the way around. So question 1: does anyone see a problem with this that I’m not considering? I’m well aware there is a 1” difference in rim width but I don’t think it affects the circumference dramatically. Question 2: could I go to 285/40 all the way around so that I have more width/traction? Thanks for your input!

275/40R21 all around will be fine. The stock m sport 20” set up is 275/45R20 all around. 275mm tire will fit on 10.5” wide wheel.
As to upgrade the width to 285 all around, the real issue is front wheel width. I have doubt that 285 is too wide for 9.5” width. I would please check with tire vendor.
