I'm being told it's running longer than usual now. My dealer has a May allocation but he's warning me that it could be @8 weeks.

Not really a surprise due to the semiconductor shortage and many oems reducing their production or stopping. I'm sure you have read it in the news...

Mine was scheduled for production to be completed on April 24, finished two days early on April 22, dispatched from factory that evening.

Industry wide it is getting worse. Do not hold your breath as it is only going to get worse over the next few months. The story continues to develop!!!!

I think whether you get delays or not depends on what options you order, and to keep production going, BMW seems to be temporarily dropping certain options to avoid delays.

I heard that acoustic glass (windows) have been put on order holds. Anyone else hear this?

Acoustic glass has not been available in the US for the entire MY21.

I had a week 20 build go into production this week (19) but has been in "Production Begins" since Monday. I called the hotline and the automated message said mine would be done by 5/18. Seemed kind of weird, but hey, whatevs.

I got the M50i in BSM w/ extended black leather, carbon fiber trim, all the options except rear seat heating and red calipers.

Same except the automated message says 5/15. Not sure if they work on Saturdays. I remember reading something years ago that said cars built on Fridays and Mondays tend to have more issues, probably an urban myth or no longer relevant as robots don't get hangovers....

That sounds like a normal timeline. Keep in mind that the Production Begins status only means that a VIN has been assigned and parts ordered/allocated and no physical assembly is being done.

Good enough for me. The configurator said there could be a 10-week delay for extended leather, so if the status means parts are allocated then that alleviates some timing concerns for me! Thanks!

I live in Europe and ordered my G32 (6GT 640i xdrive) in mid-March; heard last week (early May) the car won't be produced in my spec until further notice. Dealer quoted "parts restrictions" related to air suspension, 360 parking cameras, Harman Kardon audio and comfort seats with lumbar support... I'm pretty disappointed
