Talking Ordered x45e

Hello,

After contacting several SoCal dealers, finally placed an order for an x45e.

Here is the build: https://www.bmwusa.com/build-your-ow...1jdzyh/summary

MSRP: $76,695
Discount: $6900 (about 9% off of MSRP)
Selling price: $69,765

Will get at the time of sale:
$1,500 CA clean fuel reward
$2,500 BMWFS APR credit. 0.9% financing

Tax time:
$7,500 Federal Tax Credit

Including CA taxes (9.5%), license and registration, out the door price is $73,329.35. If you include the federal tax credit, total goes down to $65,829.35.

Dealers are playing hard balls and I could not reach the 10-11% off MSRP as people post from previous deals. My dealer specifically told me that they cannot duplicate this deal. So please do not ask for the contact information.

I am overall very happy about the deal considering the current situation with chip supply issues. Unfortunately I won’t have the Harman Kardon upgrade. They will try to put it in the order but it will very likely to be rejected.

I hope to get a production number soon.

Thanks to everyone in this site for all the valuable information.

Dealer sent me the production number which I was able to use in BMW website to track. Obviously it's in "Start" stage. Is this a good sign or everybody gets a production number?

Dealer told me that they do have the allocation.

The production number means they have an allocation. Now it is just a matter of waiting for it to get scheduled. Once you see that then you can call Genius, or ask your dealer, for the production week.

I ordered my 45e about two weeks ago, and was wondering the same thing. I'm in the same situation as you - have a production number, in the order received stage, was told they have allocation, but couldn't give me an estimate as to when to expect delivery.

Don't know why I didn't think of it sooner, but I called BMW today and they were able to tell me when my production week is. Wish the dealer could have just told me to begin with, but oh well. I'm sure there's a reason.

Dealer mentioned that they have the allocation. Based on what I am reading, me having a production number already proves that point.

My X5 45e order has been in "Scheduled for Production with no confirmed date" status since 5/2. Your dealer or the BMW Genius rep can tell you which build week (BW) your order is scheduled for. Mine was BW 19 and now BW 21. I also had HK option taken off as well. Fingers crossed......

My order switched to production begins stage and I got a VIN. Does this mean that the car will be delivered in 2-3 weeks?

Interesting…

What is your build spec? Mine is x5 45e with M Sports, exec, parking assist, Hitch and M brakes. HK was in the order but got taken off 2 weeks ago. I am wondering if my build is not put in production due to other parts related shortages. Slipped from BW 19 to BW 21

Mine went to Production begins on the 3rd and is scheduled for completion tomorrow. I expect it to arrive at the dealer probably mid to late next week. But I am on the east coast....

I assume they are put on a truck to be transported to the west coast. Hopefully not a ship lol.
I need to find tracking info from some fellow SoCal resident.

I think they go by train. I saw some earlier threads that alluded to that.

In Northern California, production completed April 30 and is expected in the distribution center in the Bay Area may 17. Took a while by train to get across the country (faster to build than ship!). Maybe LA gets a more direct route. Mine went through Kansas City to Richmond, Ca (next to Oakland)

I am glad i am in the east coast. It takes them 3 days to transport from SC. I mean, It only takes 15 hrs to drive on your own..

BMW genius told me that the car production is to be completed on May 23rd. Then it takes 2-3 weeks to arrive at the dealership. Not complaining. My Tesla Model 3 order is going way slower even though I ordered it before.
