Got VIN for 2023 X5 xDrive45e today

Hey All,

Just checked myGarage and found the VIN number for my 2023 X5 xDrive45e. Super excited. My dealer had said it generally takes 3 weeks for delivery from VIN generation. Not sure if that is still true for the 2023 models.

My build:
Carbon Black Metallic
Coffee Extended Merino Leather
Packages: M Sport, Executive, Luxury Seating, Climate comfort, Parking Assistance
Options: Harman Kardon, Trailer Hitch.

Timeline:
11May22 : Paid token amount to dealership and queued into their order booking
06Jul22 : Production number generated for 2023 model.
22Jul22 : VIN generated (Code:105 production begins) [Webpage inspect element shows prodDate: "2022-08-06"]
01Aug22 : Change in Production Date [Webpage inspect element shows prodDate: "2022-08-04"]
03Aug22 : Status 153 - Entering Assembly Line
04Aug22 : Status 182 - Awaiting Carrier Assignment
08Aug22 : Status 190 - Dispatched from factory
09Aug22 : AT THE DEALERSHIP [Update]

A VIN is assigned about two weeks before assembly and transportation to NJ is a few days so three weeks is a good estimate.

Also, did you get driving assistance professional and parking assistance?

I will update the post with the timeline when I get home. I didnt get the drivers assistance package. Just the parking assist.

Congrats! I’ll be following along. I was stuck in Order Received status for a 2022 X5 45e since early June. Last week my production number disappeared from My Garage. I called my dealer and was told 2022 production has ended and I’ve converted to a 2023. We updated a few items due to changes to exterior color options, interior seat upholstery, and interior trim. I then got a new production number for a 2023 that is in Scheduled for Production status.

X5 IS AT THE DEALERSHIP!!! (I updated the timeline in the main post)
Going to get the paperwork done ASAP. Hopefully I can get it by Thursday.

Super happy for you! But also pissed that you had a Production date after mine and basically the same vehicle and I am still stuck in QC. Again, super stoked for you!

I saw your post on another thread and it makes no sense honestly. Have you tried contacting Genius to see what the hold up is, considering build after yours are getting fulfilled?

Genius, or the dealers, do not have that information. All they will see is that it is in QC. Builds afterwards have nothing to do with it. For example, let's say there is a damaged piece of trim. They can't pull a replacement from a future build since those are allocated to that vehicle. The replacement needs to be ordered so there are often wait times as well as logistics issues.
