Hi guys,
My car is definitely not on the priority list as the dealer will give me a notice when the car leaves to Zeebruges. No call yet, so it will take some time. I received a free car from the dealer, but nothing mentioned on the gas costs. I see that some of you received gas reimbursements. Is that a local agreement or is this applicable to all drivers of a recalled car? |

Only available for people who have already received their 45e and have to drive on petrol engine alone. Basically to compensate costs of not being able to drive electric. Not available for people who received a replacement car! I asked! For what its worth I was told BMW contribute 400-500 euro for a replacement car and rest is funded by dealer. Cost of renting is +1000 euro! I can imagine the dealers are not thrilled with all of this either! |

No update - North West England
Hi All, I've kept a close eye on this forum since the early posts and it has been extremely helpful so far so thanks everyone for your inputs - what a nightmare this is! I thought I would sign up and try and add value (instead of just reading!) by keeping you up to date with updates from my experience too. I ordered my X5 45e back in January and the initial fulfilment date was due to be May. I had all the subsequent delays and my car arrived into the UK in early September. It has been sitting in Thorne ever since and I have had no information at all direct from my dealer. In fairness my dealer really wants to help, but is getting zero support or information from central BMW. The dealership have given me a car to drive round in but I would much prefer to get my hands on my actual new car. The dealer also placed an order for a new vehicle for me about a month or so ago and said I was welcome to have whichever arrived first. I know I have had the longest wait from all the dealer's customers at around 11 months. They have told me that some 530e and 330e vehicles have been coming through but nothing on X5s as yet. If there is any change then I'll let you all know... Don't hold your breath!

Same at my dealer, still no X5 that came back. Seems logical that vehicles with smaller batteries are tested first since it takes less time to validate if the car is “safe”. But they should at least consider time of order in the priority ranking. Hope it’s going to go faster... no sign yet that tests are done despite the fact tests started on Saturday (recall code still shown)

Update from my dealer: car was picked up already on 24/11 for transport back to Zeebrugge. Car is supposed to be back at the dealer by 15/12, but no details on where they are with the actual testing procedure.
In short: still on track to have the car delivered only 11(!) months after the order. But let's stay positive, the wait is almost over (I hope...). |

To be honest, I can't be mad at my dealer. I've ordered 115K car, got 130K car as a replacement =D If you ask me, my car can be parked in their parking until March, so I don't have to buy winter tires... =)

Have you finally gotten your delivery date confirmed now? I wonder who in this forum will actually be the first to confirm that the delivery have taken place following the HV battery.

Good news of the day 😉
“ There are no open safety related recalls or technical enhancements on this vehicle.” finally, some hope after nearly a year of waiting! |

Delivery date set now? Share some pictures with us others still waiting when you finally receive your car. It finally gives some light at the end of the tunnel seeing that this is progressing into a final fix that actually works.

Just curious, did you try to fetch data from the BMW recall site during last week? If yes, did you at some point see a reservation date in the data for the recall code coming in at some point? I believe default are no reservation date mentioned until certain work starts with either software test and then battery test. |
