Surprisingly no, my kid(s) were all very well mannered

I was an evil SOB, nicknamed "problem child" by my family: stealing my dads car @ 11, making weapons and reenacting American Ninja 1 & 2 Was just some of my highlights growing up

I'm 37 my wife 39, WE love kids, almost feels weird without any noise when we're out alone

Interresting. Those were the two worst ninja movies that came out in the 80's. Was a ninja movie without Sho Kosugi really a ninja movie??? I'll apologize for making reference that you might be old earlier with the prune comment. I'm actually 5 years older. I'll give you props though, I don't like kids. I like my kids, because I can put them in their place when they need it. Other people's kids are like other people's pets; they're great for about 5 minutes.

Ok. I’ll chime in on the kids. If a kid is having a bad day and is cranky or crying, that’s one thing. If kids are running around the restaurant disrupting others and the staff while their parents are sitting at the table drinking and eating while ignoring their kids behavior is something different.

To all the dining public @ Friendly's, 99 restaurant *awesome steak tips btw* or Ground-round (all casual family places) 11 years ago around southern New England area it was our family plan to f**k up your dinner...

Places with vinyl seats/booths with paper napkins is almost expected to hear tantrums and random French fries thrown at you.

The line is when the place is serving alcohol, you should wear a jacket or it opens after 5pm then I agree NO little people should be allowed.

Edit: I surrender, no more defending families with loud/wild kids at restaurants
My kids are grown now btw, my 20 year old twin girls are @ university and my son is a little gentleman

I'm surprised so many people got offended from that meme. I remember being in nice restaurants as a kid with my sisters, and we were all quiet as a mouse and didn't move an inch. The reason for that is if we did, my dad would've given us flying lessons with his foot afterward.

There is a huge difference between a fussy baby, a terminally ill child, or a child with a disability and some bratty kids running through the restaurant with shitty parents who can't control them. We've all seen both and should know the difference enough to not get offended.

I remember stopping in a McDonald's once on a road trip to take a leak, and in the lobby was a mom chasing 3 kids who were literally jumping from table to table around the lobby. I winced just at the thought of what would've happened to me if I had done that.

When my youngest (he's 26 now) was a toddler he was the devil. He didn't sit still very well. His mother and I would take him and his older sister out to dinner. We'd go to family style not fancy restaurants. And we knew to eat fast. Once he has done with his food he wanted to go. We didn't want to disrupt anyone else's meal or evening out so we would pack up and leave. Some kids can't/won't sit still and to be fare you should recognize that and deal with it and not impose your little prince/princess on the rest of the population.

I know when I was a kid I'd have gotten a smack but honestly 20+ years ago you couldn't do that in public and it's gotten worse. I'm not going to comment on what is the correct way to discipline a child just that you shouldn't force everyone else to experience your kids.

That's very polite of you to take into consideration other people, and know how your child acts in certain situations. The problem is most people don't care about those around them. The "all about me" attitude in society is making it's way into parenting now.
