The reason is actually - as you mentioned above - that there is significantly more torque in the middle range possible, but it is already too much at the top and the DME regulates it back. I've heard the same experience from the JB4. So the right "map" has to be experimented.
The RaceChip has 7 tune maps (1-7) and Map 0 that disables the RC so the car is stock.

There is a boost increase with each higher Map, so Map 7 theoretically makes the most power. I have a gas station with e85 nearby so I blend to e25 and run Map7 and the car shouldn't pull any timing and give me the most power possible from the RC.

I have a RC Black, 2023 X5 M40i Msport, Catted DP from Evolution Raceworks and HPS cold air intake.
I finally got Leib CEL delete working so no more CEL.
I have draggy but have not done runs yet.
I’m in Austin.
Want to find a good area to run the tests. Where can I go and find an isolated area/road to do so?

I run 93 octane

It's tough to evaluate posts in the dragy leaderboard app because people are not always transparent with their mods so take them with a grain of salt.

The only way I am going to satisfy myself is take my X5M on a dedicated test where I run Map7 on a 1/4 mile and then wait a bit to cool back down and change to Map0 and run again in tbe same spot. My X5M has no other mods so should be a good test
Hey guys - been awhile since I checked my thread. Thanks for the detailed analysis of the run..I didn’t even realize I let off early. DOE! I was also confused about the only slightly higher trap speed.

I’ve done a few more runs since, but interestingly enough, I haven’t gotten any quicker times. Since then I’ve added a custom mid section back exhaust system. It essentially removed the suitcase muffler and gave me quad exhaust tips..sounds amazing. RC black is my only “real” mod, although I have added some gas station STP octane booster to a few of my tanks for testing. It does seem to help a bit. I’ll try to get some more runs with and without to see exactly how much difference it is making.

My trap has been as high as 115.44. That was on a 3.58/11.84 run @ 0.17% slope and a super dense air -594 DA night. I believe one big factor in why I’m not getting even lower 1/4 times is that I am in need of new tires. Not enough tread left and I am getting some wheel spin off the line, especially in the higher RC Maps.

On that point, on 93 octane, Map 6 has been the best. Taking to Map 7 has yielded slower times for whatever reason and worse, it sometimes makes it short shift 2nd and/or 3rd gear. Definitely not desirable. So, I leave it in map 6, which even works just fine for daily driving on 93 octane.

Did you test it?? Curious if others’ results are similar to mine.

I think otherwise (I mean accelerating to the end) it would be at about 187km/h. Here are 3 screenshots from Dragy as compatison : his run, another M50i Stage 2 with downpipe and a lot of mods ( not racechip) and an X5MC. As you can see, the X5MC has also only about 190km/h at the end with a +0.12% slope.
And they should have about 650hp on dyno.
So I don't think he has no additional power at the top.
Appreciate the feedback from you both

very nice setup. I am just searchig for a good tuning chip to give my 2023 45e a further 50 - 100 horses which basically would be putting the output of the B58 to what the 40i is. I admire all of what you guys have done to your vehicle. Kudos.
I live in Jamaica, so any chip or tune will void my warranty, So I will have to wait for the to end. So 3 months down, 33 to go LOL

Anyone throwing engine malfunction codes with the racechip? I just installed the gts black on my 19 x5 50i and it throws codes when I get on it in settings 3 & 5 so far.

No codes here. Been installed for about 6mo. I would contact RC if I were you.
