G05 X5 with B58C, PCV question

Hey all,

I just bought a 2019 X5 40i B58 with 37k miles and took some time to inspect it on the lift today. The only engine leakage I'm seeing is around where the charge pipe connects to the turbo. It's seepage covered in dirt and extends a good 3 inches from the joint.

I'm assuming this a PCV issue? If so, is the PCV valve built into the valve cover like on my N55, or did BMW come to their senses?

Thanks, still learning the new ride.

2013F10,

Just curious if you figured out anything about the leak? I have a MY2021 X5 40i that had the o-ring between the charge pipe and turbo replaced under warranty (back in SEP2023) due to the same small leakage.

I guess it's "normal" for a small amount of oil to be in the charge pipe due to PCV so I didn't really look into it.

Now I'm curious where the PCV valve is on this engine...

They changed your o ring do to oil leaking? Oil isn't supposed to be in the charge pipe. Sounds suspicious. Time to get an oil catch can.
