Racechip vs Dinan vs JB4

Hello, I am new to the BMW modding scene, but have been in the game a long time. I had bad previous experience when it comes to piggyback systems.

Are these things realible? Think it goes both ways and depends how you do it.

For the poll...notice a lot of people running the Racechip but noticed Dinan has one too...any love for them?

Vote, on what you have or would use?

Not sure why I don't have the true poll system yet.

I use the Jb4 and have been using a Jb4 on my cars since 2010 with no issues.

It all depends on what the user is after.

The jb4 is the best tuner on the market; its got the most features, added safety failsafes, data logging, etc...
You get many more features, but you don't need to use them; if you want to keep it simple, you can install the jb4 and don't change any settings.

The Race Chip and Dinan are also excellent options; they are not as advanced as the JB4, but they are easier to install and uninstall.
If that's a deciding factor in your purchase, that would be the only time I recommend them over the jb4.

excellent feedback! Price wise, they are all fairly similar...

Think JB4 having more options to use or NOT... is very nice

I know all of them come with similar maps 1-6? or 1-7?

I am running 93 octane here in Texas. So, will just want that map...also an full exhaust

I've been using JB4's on everything from BMW to Ford to Porsche and never had any issues. Just ordered the S68 tune today.

Sounds good Man.
Please gives us a review of the JB4 S68 piggyback.
The initial results from Burger with 91, 93, and E30 look fantastic.

Mike,

I am getting wastegate/reduced power in both my F90 M5 Comp and F95 X5M Comp that requires a reset every time.

There was a beta update that came out that was supposed to fix, but it hasn't worked for me yet.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a broader fix for these errors. I can't put either car in M2 and have some fun without it giving me these error messages.

Anyone have a recommendation on how long to wait before tuning? I have 400 miles and am thinking I will change the oil at 1000 and then tune but idk if that's too soon.

My pick is RaceChip.
Best product quality in the market and smoother power delivery.
Developed and made in Germany.

Dinan wise, they are rebranded RaceChip with milder mapping.

I used to sell many other brand, but stop selling them due to many reasons. From product quality to the company itself.

Is there a racechip for the M60i yet? I wouldn't be opposed to buying both and comparing back to back.

Coming very soon.
I have just finalized the testing of US map couple weeks ago.
Just need Germany to add it to the portal.

Are you using the EWG connections on JB4? I'm using F90 version 9 firmware on my F95 and I've never had any issues. However, I'm not using the EWG connections, only TMAP. The EWG connections have always been problematic AFAIK. Reach out to Burger support email and they can make suggestions on settings to troubleshoot or revise firmware.

SOTP meter gain? It would appear that the tuners are getting more from the M60i's new S68 engine at this early stage. Any actual numbers?

Hi
Why isn't 95 or 98 Octane used in the Dyno runs?
Would it get better results and better for the engine?

91 octane is premium in CA. 93 that is available in most other states would make more power.
