Subscribed as well - this would be a great thing for me, after having decided on M235i giving up the 435i with M-PPK.
BTW waiting is killing me - I'm in Poland less than 1000 kms from Leipzig where they are manufactured, yet having ordered on December the 8th 2014 I still don't know the VIN yet

As far as I know the only reason the MPPK is not offerred for the M235 is b/c it already has it. I would be very surprised if BMW was going to produce something to make the car even closer to the M2, right ahead of the release. What you are describing is essentially all the upgrades the M2 will get over the 235 (more power, cooling, etc. ) Of course I would love to see a reasonably priced and reliable flash from the manufacturer, so I hope I'm wrong.

Not quite agree; we know that just through LCI, some BMW models with N55 engine got the 320-ish hp upgrade even though they don't have the M-prefix in their model names (of course I don't mean true M, but M like in the M235i). So - in the advent of the true M 2 series - the M2, BMW faced a choice: either drop the M235i model entirely (which would be a shame, especially before I finally get mine ) - or upgrade it with M-PPK. So I am expecting the kit to become available, but just with some new software - no hardware mods - and with the output of some 340 hp which - while justifying the very existence of the M235i (soon to become M240i) model - wouldn't violate the M2-reserved territory of 260-270 hp. I keep my fingers crossed, anyway!

I was going to go for the AC Schnitzer upgrade http://preisliste.ac-schnitzer.de/ac...40&ID_NR=13280
Doubt it will as aggressive as that, that would bring it too close to M2 spec but still think there's a large enough margin to offer an upgrade without stepping on toes, cost value and worth are obviously going to come into the equation for a marginal upgrade? To keep it within BMWs soft cosy warranty blanket |

I am not expecting much in terms of power/upgrades vs price. But im hoping that they prove me wrong.

It's actually not. The M235i motor has 1. Software upgrade (the MPPK maybe, but who knows); 2. Forged (rather than cast) crankshaft; and 3. Extra cooling (I've heard US Models have two oil coolers, etc.).
It'd be nice if we got a bump to "340 HP, 350 TQ" (considering that's probably closer to what the car actually puts out now, the actual output will be even higher). |

Anyone want to place bets on this ever materializing?
More likely scenario? M235i is going away with the new engine ( it could happen, esp with M2 on horizon). the resulting 240i will have an MPPK available. I highly doubt this is coming out for the current M235i |

We need the (reliable) source for many info mentioned in this thread: - M-PPK for the M235i - stock M235i actually having any hardware mods to its N55 engine (forged crankshaft legend is as old as the car itself, but I've never seen any hard facts confirming it); 340i gets similar power just from the LCI tune-up So - aren't we just dreaming? It's a nice dream, but I'm afraid nothing more than a dream...

Standard N55 crank-11212163665, piston-11257624409 Since BMW makes a spec M235i Race the forged crank is possibly meant for homologation standards. Or since it is a 'M' inspired enthusiast car, that BMW realized would see a lot of track time from owners, BMW wanted the best parts installed for durability purposes. |
