I have an x5 on order but since its a december build i have time. I was checking out a Mercedes glc amg63. i know its smaller but it looks like fun. don't believe i would get the features. im struggling a bit since i don't have kids at home and only need enough room to haul the dog.

My replacement for my F15 X5 in 18 months time is now without a doubt going to be a G05, purely by default of the other options being taken out of the running by their own makers.........
3rd row seating is a no-no for me, so that takes the Q7 out of the running, plus the fact that you have a choice between black or a grey that might as well be black for the interior LR/RR/Jaguar - as much as I like them, I don't want to risk owning one As for the Mercedes, well, like many on here have said, the interiors are simply horrible.....quite way MB choose to design such low-rent interiors in terms of styling and finish in such an expensive car is quite baffling. That MB suspension tech though, is very cool, and this is the one area BMW are seriously lagging behind the opposition, having only finally upped to 2-axle air suspension on the G05, which means they are still behind the curve when compared to current MB/RR etc. The Cayenne was going to be a serious option (despite the extra cost) and I almost bought one 18 month ago, instead of the F15, but the announcement this weekend from Porsche that they will not be restarting diesel production, and there will be no more diesel engine Macan, Cayenne or Panamera means that Porsche will no longer be an option for me either..... So, without even trying too hard, BMW will be retaining my business, by the default of the opposition, by virtue of retaining excellent diesel engines, improving slightly the suspension and having almost the best interior design and comfort options. The only downside is the new world emissions testing criteria is limited the options to 'pack combinations' more, which means having to paying extra for stuff I don't want, as its the only way I can get some stuff I do want

Mercedes in air suspension is a way bettter then BMW.. Anti-roll stabilization, like a superbike tilt, 48V actuators and many others.. Mercedes crush BMW in this point!
